edit: Apparently Caruso was absolutely drilled and taken out with two corners to go by Lowndes. Robbo not happy about at all, and by what he said, Lowndes was very deliberate in taking him out. What's the bet CL will get away with it once again, as there's probably no footage of the incident.

For which Mr Lowndes copped a 25 point penalty, dumping him to. 4th in the title race...

The "experiment" was to narrow it down to a point. The point being, Nismo and AMG/Erebus have hit a brick wall technically, and have no where to go within the current regulations for them to be competitive if a solution wasn't found.

The solution was found in the fuel; albeit it was a bit too one sided, it can be fine tuned. The fuel needed to change for these teams to be competitive, and make their investment into the series worthwhile. It is a parity series after all.

Does sporting integrity come into it at all.

Whats next, do Ford get a different set of rubber if their car doesnt handle so well?

Following an investigation and admission by Scott McLaughlin Car #33 that he breached Rule B3.2.6 by placing a video image on his Facebook Page the Stewards imposed a fine of $5000 with $4000 suspended until 31/12/2013.

Based on the Erebus results on the weekend the cars went further backwards....even Engel out performed Holdsworth & Slade....so much for the cold air abilities.

I cant see any improvement for the rest of the year at all with Sandown & Bathurst looking like very long days indeed.

Mr Engel was also a recipient of the E70 'jungle juice' on the Saturday, but it only seemed to keep him ahead of his teammates, not trouble the top 10...

the most PATHETIC part of the weekends coverage was watching the old racing highlights from a number of years ago and having the various tobacco company sponsorship on the cars blurred out ! OMFG how pathetic. I mean we still watch movies where people smoke cigarettes without a blurred image so surely some maturity is required here.

Back from Winton today. Another terrific weekend away - especially meeting the great North Melbourne AFL player Peter Chisnall at the Tungamah Pub

Special mention to the organisers for a moving tribute to Mick Ronke on Sunday. The crowd was so quiet you could hear the frogs.....

Crowd seemed a bit lighter than years gone by but the weather was looking pretty dodgy.

Only downside is the frustrating delays between races. 50 minutes between Dev Series and R3 on Sunday is a bit much....

In terms of crowd, it shouldnt be forgotten that the catchment area in and around Shepparton isnt flying as well as it has in prior years. SPC Ardmona have taken a scythe through their activities there, trying to reduce operational costs to be competitive with imported products that the big retailers seem to like at the minute. Money is tight...

I drove up the Hume from Melbourne on Saturday, plenty of highway patrol on the road so stuck to the speed limit.

First time I've been to the V8's for sometime and enjoyed the days racing but they still some other form of supports as well. The bikes used to be on the card @ Winton years ago.

Forgot to mention the wonderful ladies and gents from the Benalla Rotary Club who cooked up a storm over the entire weekend! Hopefully their coffers are full after a tribe of them worked like trojans...
They were charging $4.50 for bacon and egg rolls and $7 for steak sandwiches (with all the salad) Meanwhile the corporate goons over at the old footy oval were flogging "fish" and chips for $13.

The BAC Ladies Auxillary used to run the food, but unfortunately they didn't do it this year, the Rotary Club did do a good job
