simon_blay should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Castle Combe

Of those that have attended either as a marshal or spectator this year, hasn't it been brilliant?! Good championships, close racing and packed grids, especially the circuits own ones. 42 cars started the Castle Combe Saloon's race on Monday, and it topped the average touring car race, fantastic battles and hardly any contact.

And what a brilliant 2 dayer it was ! Non stop quali/racing from 8.30 to 1800. Well done marshals, not even a lunch break.

Great weekend but hope track limit issues don't drive competitors and championships away from the circuit.

Just let them race!! None of this 5-10 second penalty nonsense for going a bit too far over a white line at the chicanes.

which other rules do you think should be ignored?
overtaking under yellows?
nerfing other cars off into the scenery?
jumping the start?

I really don't see how running slightly over a white line can be compared to any of those.

I'm not a racer (although I do spend a fairly large chunk of time stood beside racing tracks either waving a variety of flags or observing); however, in my view exceeding track limits still constitutes gaining an advantage (although possibly slight) that isn't within the spirit of the rules. Also, time penalties are only given out after the fourth transgression so the odd error shouldn't result in a penalty.

I also doubt whether such penalties will put off racers from going to Combe - it is far from the only venue where this is an issue.

It's cheating. If you allow drivers to make the circuit easier to drive why not allow them to have bigger engines? It only levels the playing field for those who can't drive as well as people who can go faster with the right cc.
