Reading through Autosports obituary I thought I'd read that he was married to Jean Howarth, Mike Hawthorn's fiance then the wife of Innes Ireland

I saw this in the Autosport obituary

Salmon is survived by his wife Jean (nee Bloxham), who was also an enthusiastic club racer before their marriage.

Any relation to Jeff Bloxham? - Motorsport photographer extraordinaire

Not sure how Jean would have had two maiden names, but I'm on the understanding that Jean Howarth was indeed Mike Hawthorn's fiance who then went onto marry Innes Ireland, and Jean Bloxham was a seperate lady who also happened to be an Aston Martin racer in the sixties.
