Interserie - Germany.

I have seen photos from recent years and it looks a bit weird, a pair of World Series By Renault cars battling with a GP2 car (Piloted by ex-GP2 man Andreas Zuber at The Red Bull Ring last year)through the rest of the field which is made up of old F3 and Formula Renault Machinery.

So has this got anything to do with the Interserie that raced at places like Keimola in the 70's featuring Can-AM style cars?

And also how can they not see the dangers of closing speeds between a GP2 car and a Formula Renault car?

It is a "continuation" of sorts......the early/mid 90s the car was populated by cars from defunct sportscar series Group C etc along with F1/F3000 cars with mud guard like covers to cover the wheels. The real rot set in for the series when Boss/Euroboss series was born and the majority of single seaters from interserie could race in original trim there. The Group C cars were hoovered up by having their own series emerge not long after Boss.
As you say the series is nothing more than a Libre series with the Interserie name; you mentioned closing speeds every "big" car series has a serious problem with this and it's something that has worried me for a long time. It's not if but when we have a terrible accident caused by this.

So the series would also be the reason for a photo I have seen of wat appears to be an 80's IndyCar with mudguards on it?

As for closing speeds yes unfortunatley there wil one day be a big one. I imagine in this series it will be something like a Formula Renualt unsighted at a crest I guess.

In one photo I think I saw Karl Heinz-Becker's car from BOSS GP racing?

I can't confirm it was Becker but not beyond the realms of possability as he used to race a Lola T600 in Interserie in the 90s.
