HI GUYS, USING MY FATHERS TERMINAL. MY NAME IS STRATTON AND CAN TELL YOU A LITTLE MORE ABOUT CLUB100. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO ENTER AND BE REASONABLY SUCCESSFUL IN THIS YEARS 'GRAND PRIX DRIVER' COMPETITION, AND WAS RECOMMENDED CLUB100 BY SEVERAL PEOPLE DURING THE EVENT. AS A COMPLETE NOVICE, AND I MEAN COMPLETE HAVING NEVER EVEN BEEN NEAR EVEN A KART LET ALONE A RACECAR, IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT I TAKE A LOOK AT CLUB100 WITH A VIEW TO COMPETING AND GAINING SOME EXPERIENCE. WELL IT CERTAINLY GIVES YOU THAT. ITS VALUE FOR MONEY, CUT AND THRUST ARRIVE N DRIVE RACING, ON SOME GREAT TRACKS WITH EXCELLENT LEVELS OF ORGANISATION. I CURRENTLY RUN IN BOTH HEAVYWEIGHT SPRINT AND ROOKIE CLASS ENDURO, EACH VERY DIFFERENT BUT WITH THE SAME NET RESULT, LOADS OF FUN. COULD NOT FAULT CLUB100 IN ANY WAY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. HAS GIVEN THIS NOVICE A LITTLE TRACK CRAFT AND COMPETITION TO TAKE FORWARD INTO CAR RACING NEXT SEASON

I took part in a Club 100 test night at wilton mill last year with simon j and some of the swansea institute team. Compared to my rotax i found the chassis to be really stiff with loads of castor on to get it round the corners, which made it a pig to steer. I guess the chassis' have to be very robust to put up with the abuse they get. The TKM engines were really good to drive, you will have a blast if you've only done corporate pro-karting, there is no comparison power and speed wise.
As for myself i'll stick with my Rotax. I really enjoy the preparation, chassis/engine tuning part of it as well as getting faster on the track. It feels like a more complete racing experience to me to have to work at setting up my own kart. If your only other option is corporate pro-karting go Club 100. You'l love it. Have fun! |

First lesson everyone learns when they start racing, whether it be karts, cars or lawnmowers.... There is no such thing as cheap motorsport.

How did you get on in Birmingham. Sorry we didn't get to see you there but Stratton was testing for the Ginetta team. He is racing at Rockingham this weekend. Going up on Sunday to see him qualify and race. Will you be doing the sprints at buckmore Park in November. This is our local track so will definatley be there.

Hi,
I am looking at doing some Club100 races next year and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I have done a fair amount of karting including a race at Buckmore Park but all the karts I have raced in have been pro karts. I do intend to do a club100 practise day just to get used to the 2 stroke karts but my main question is about age. I am 35 and was wondering if I am to old? I don't want to turn up and find I am racing a bunch of 18 year and feel out of place or is there a real mix of ages racing? I am also 12 stone (intend to get this down to 11) and 5ft 9 and so would this put me in heavies or lightweights? Any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards |

Well, Im not sure how many kilo's 12 stone is but the weight limits are HW's 80kg+, LW 74KG+. Its better to be a light person in the heavy weight class than a heavy person in the lightweight class if you get my drift.
As for age, well there is a vast array of ages from people of 16, like myself, to people of about 50 plus. The top speed between a club100 kart and a twin engined pro kart is not to different, where you'll see the biggest difference is the acceleration. Significantly better than the pro karts. Feel free to ask anymore questions |

Hiya
12 stone is about 76 kg but I guess they weigh you with helmet on also. So are you saying that if I am over 80 kg I go into the HW class and if I am under I go into the LW? |
