sunflower should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rip off dealer prices

my wheel trims are past their best - black from brake dust, scraped along the kerb etc so I wanted to replace them with the same ones the car came with.

I was stunned to be told they were going to be a penny less than 17.00 EACH - 68.00 approx to replace them all.

Surely they're no diff to plain ones so why are they soooo expensive just because they have a griffin in the middle?

Now I probably shouldn't say this, but when me and my mates used to go thrashing round in my Dad's Maestro, we'd inevitably lose a wheel trim or two, and we found this side street in Failsworth where one old Maestro owner replaced his "missing" wheel trims every day, and obviously didn't have the wit to use cable ties...

16.99 each does seem a bit of a rip off. I'd pop down to Halfords and get a set of 4 for twenty quid if I were you...
(NOT those horrible shiny fake alloy ones though, please!! )

Most shopping centre carparks usually contain the wheel covers you are looking for

Tried the scrappies? There must be enough Vauxhalls in there to come up with a set of decent ones. Failing that (and obviously I wouldn't support this behaviour), there must be a Vauxhall somewhere between the pub and your house. If your moral standards are high, you could always "trade" the hubcaps. Chances are the new owner wouldn't notice them for a while anyways.
