But wait the knuckleheads at Ford HQ thought, let pull v8supercar $$$ wait a few weeks then pour that $$$ back into motorsport via F4 class.

The fans will buy it as we at Ford support motorsport in Australia.

This mob at HQ are a bunch on morons, at that hurts my to say that about Ford as I bleed blue ( yes thats tru Reload )

It's more like pulling $$$$$$$ out of V8SC and pouring $ into F4... or maybe even make a profit center out of it. IIRC they won't need to do any development as the engine already exists elsewhere and the only thing they'll pay for is the right to sell it to the F4 teams...

It will help in there push to sell Euro designs of the Focus and other crap , targeting those that live in inner city apartments , drive down lane ways and drink skinny latte's with soy.
And don't forget the mustang with a 4 cly eco boost , Ford are already crowing that they 15000 interest in the mustang, not bad out of a population of 25 mil, so doing the maths, that's:
5-6 mil retired
5-6 mil school kids
5 mil who want buy it
5 mil Holden fans
5 mil who couldn't give a rats about it.

so nothing crow about , on those figures .
But Trevor Worthington will come up with some spin doctor crap .

FORD - May as well reproduce the Edsel

Mate might be time to let it go, people who live in inner city apartments have plenty of money to spend, better than a vb swilling bogan it seems...

With the downturn in the mining industry I think the number of cashed up bogans will decrease so the makers of HSVs, FPVs and Mustangs will be looking to the mid-life crisis crowd for sales.

Yes , that is true, and I supposed If I was in the mix, looking at demo graphics on where the business was to go in the future, I would be targeting them too.

I just Ford would be a bit more open , but that might alienate some of the Ford fans, but hey you will never satisfy everyone.

A few years back, the for sale adds in Central Queensland was full of these, as the mines started slowing up.

Fix Or Repair Daily?

While Ford are out for 2016, what odds they will come back with the Mustang in 2017?

V8 supercars in the same situation where Chevrolet Chevy and Dodge Polara were discontinued in Argentina in 1978... The Turismo Carretera series took the determination to continue with the same cars, sharply when the last works team (that was Ford with the Falcons) quit the series at mid-1979.

That made the '70s Falcon, Chevy, Dodge and Torino the four official brands used on Argentinian Turismo Carretera up to today, despite the cars now were highly modified as silhouettes and almost prototypes done in local way.

Rumour that some of the design work for the new Ford GT was done at Broadmeadows........let's hope they make a GT3 spec as well as the GTE spec for Le Mans.
