ACO do confirm that Fuji will move back to it's original date and will clash with Petit Le Mans unless IMSA moves PLM.

Plenty of time to do so - but not gonna happen.
I really don't understand this so called synergy between ACO and IMSA and wouldn't be surprised to see the "new global prototype rules" having another disappointing outcome... Btw, 36 full season entries is better than I expected. http://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/3...or-wec-season/ |

It seems that Rebellion will be running numbers 1 & 3 this year.

Why can't IMSA move their PLM date? Is something conflicting with it being a week or two later? It seems like the WEC is getting all the flak but the other series can't compromise at all. |

Yeah but it's a bit harsh to say "IMSA should move one of their crown events so that WEC can have a race with Alonso".
I'm all for Alonso-mania, but this is a silly situation. |

Midweek Motorsports did do a post on their FB page explaining that IMSA did try and move the date, but there were conflicts with Fox over the TV deal and teams.

Whilst completely ignoring the reveal of both the WEC and Le Mans entry lists, Auntie has picked up on the Fuji date move story.

The article about Fuji moving date is almost 5 times longer than the entire 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours report.

This Fuji/PLM business is absurd. Alonso has been on a two year charm offensive doing and saying all the right things about Indy/Daytona/LM and then this. How to shred all your good will in one easy step. And yes, I appreciate Toyota must be a big driver behind this.
It is extremely disrespectful to the drivers (and their sponsors) already signed up to do both events. |

Also Oreca considering few of them later on instead of plain dismissing the chance right away is good news considering they had taken bit of a lazy approach to the later development of 04/R-One in 2014-16 |

Hi guys,
if you wonder how quick could the new privateer LMP1 be, we did a study based on simulations: http://theracingline.net/2018/race-c...1-whats-story/ |

http://www.fiawec.com/en/news/new-re...ate-teams/4152 2016 CLM 2017 CLM It just didn't really matter last year when the only car entered was ByKolles. But remember Ginetta and SMP announced cars under last year's regulations. |

I suspect the Fuji date was a condition of Toyota's commitment to return

In my own mind, and based on nothing more than historic privateer P1 lap times, as well as last year's P2 laptimes, I felt a low 3:19 might just be possible. |

BTW even my simulations predicted a silverstone best laprtime in about 1.38 for a 2018 private lmp1 gibson powered physic model. Guess I wrote a post here about that one or two weeks ago. |

Duval is committed to DTM and TDS in LMP2. Which means he is one of the many drivers affected by the date change.
