1975DCS should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The European Challenge hasn't been a success either... Both WRX and ERX are too small in numbers to make it worthwhile, but together they would be! The year Doran's RS 200 caught fire had a massive entry, totally worthwhile the trip from Rotterdam!

Just caught up with the Lydden World RX coverage on Sky Sports Mix (better than motorsport tv as in high definition). Where has the loose surface gone?

The aerial footage above the joker shows pretty much a tarmac/concrete racing line right round Chessons and Paddock Bend. Tyre smoke from the rough tells you it isn't a loose surface. Wonder why Lydden spent the money knowing they were losing the event to Silverstone? The joker was loose hence the dust.

I think that championship was more of a opposing series with dissatisfaction towards IMG. Their motto for example was "Rallycross the way it should be" or something like that and their logic was beyond my understanding. Besides, the official ERC became ERX so it was quite doomed from the beginning.

Now this is interesting! As at lydden recently there was talk of wrestling the Euro title away with a consortium with Munnich and Doran, could be good for lydden or was it just wishful thinking from a few people?

It would not surprise me at all. Munnich is a man to do it, he has money to burn. As does Pat.

And it is people like that who need to be at the forefront of doing this, take the ERC rights away from IMG and let's bring rallycross back to where it ought to be tracks, budgets and driver wise.

Though I can see the need for WRX and that fact it has taken off, it is taking rallycross to a level that is not really representative of the fans, teams that are doing it (most of them are still old people from the past) and the tracks are terrible.

So I hope this comes off, but it only will with people like Pat, Munnich as they have the money to back it.

Would seem like a dream pairing but rumour also has it that Estering is on the verge of loosing the historical venue. The start of the 2018 season will be interesting, RM may other ties.

Let's be honest here, could you really see the need for two German venues? IMG are only honouring a contract and would never dream of buying Estering out, why would they do, but it will be dropped as soon as the contract is run.

Rallye-Magazin.de reports that there won't be a joint event of DTM and WRX next year presumably: https://www.rallye-magazin.de/rallyc...etrennte-wege/.
IMG is unhappy how ITR (organizer of DTM) treats them. The question now is if there will be a RX event (without DTM) at Hockenheim next year or if they stay at the Estering. At least there has been some construction work going on in the last few years. That doesn't make the circuit bigger, but for me it's a sign of hope.

When joining DTM you know from the start you play 2nd fiddle.

Hopefully Estering stays in the WRX.

Of course you play second fiddle, it is a huge, properly manufacturer backed series, with bigger drivers and vastly more bigger budgets. it is THEIR date, THEIR track and they have been here a lot longer than you I am afraid and have a background of massive success, decent racing and about as much clout in racing as WEC or Indycar. DTM is a truly massive series in Germany and with the manufacturers, they will never allow themselves to be dictated to by IMG.

The cars involved are not built by private Hansen or Solberg teams with dealer backing, they are built by AMG, BMW and Audi factory tams at their motorsport premises. Drivers are paid by Audi or BMW, not a sponsor.

And it is in Germany!! What on earth do these cretins expect, to be top dog?

Yet in Britain were are now faced with a ridiculous event next year when rallycross is not the main draw.

Double standards IMG, you are showing your true colours, more and more and more.
