McCarthy in IMSA

I'm just finishing the excellent McCarthy book, pretty good read, and very funny in places. However I've checked some of his recollections of his IMSA Spice days, and they don't tally with results I've seen elsewhere. He often states that 'we finished 3rd, 4th ...' etc, but patently he didn't. Am I to assume he means 3rd/4th in Lights, as opposed to overall?

From memory he did have 1 or 2 good finishes in the main GTP class, but don't think he was ever too high so often as he says in the book. Anyone else remember him in IMSA, especially our US friends, and if so, how did you rate him ?

He was quicker then sh*t in those cars, that's for sure! The car usually didn't last very long, but he often had poles if I remember. He was definately one of the best drivers out there, I remember seeing him at Del Mar and saying, man that English guy is one bad mother f-er!

I rated him very highly, too bad he never got a ride in cart!
