The many doodles of Arnold Ridley.

Hello.

I've just done a smashing little doodle, old school style, thought you might like to have a look:

Circuit runs clockwise, no idea how long it'd be, but I imagine it'd be grand in scale. You'd get a great balance between ultra high speed through the long dog leg sections, and a bit of a technical challenge through the infield section which I think entwines twisty and flowing traits together quite deliciously.

If anybody wants to turn it into a sim circuit, go for it.

Thank you for posting your "first" effort. For a length, I would suggest something between 5 and 6 kilometers. Your design clearly shows you are rather an admirer of the type of bends which circuits like Monza and the Österreichring used to have and not a fan of sharp corners at the end of long straights like the Tilkedromes have them. That's why I guess both you and I have got philosophies for track design which are somewhat reminiscent of each other.

I don't remember your former nickname since I have been in the "real world" quite a lot as of late so I need to use the forum search engine to take look at your previous designs.

But this one is very nice. I'd like to suggest some edits, though. You have that parabolica shaped corner where the infield section comes closest to the perimeter circuit. That one is preceded by the same type of chicane which comes before it. For the sake of variety, I would suggest to change the first of those chicanes or remove it altogether.
And then, another thing in the infield: That left-hander (the one which comes before the right-hander exiting the infield) is a little too tight for my taste. It's more Hungaroring than Österreichring in style. I'd like to give it more radius.

Welcome back to the board, and what a comeback it is!

A bit more info would be nice to have? The track looks clockwise but the runoff on the dogleg on the front straight looks anticlockwise. In what direction is it run?

It's like Barber meets Salzburgring meets ???
This circuit has got many good genes.
