Groningen Raceway
I really do think that Motorsport categories like DTM and F1 should return to the Netherlands. It's been a while since the series headed there, since Zandvoort was removed from the calendar, and if this circuit was to be built then it could be an F1 circuit that hosts the Dutch Grand Prix, either on it's own or alternating between Zandvoort each year. 11 corners and a relatively wide circuit should make the racing unique for spectators and drivers alike.

Eh, DTM still races in Zandvoort. 26th of August is the next edition. And why built a track in Groningen, a relatively thinly populated area, with arguably the best track in the Netherlands less than 50km away?

I don't know anything about the land in Netherlands (excuse the poor wording and repitition of 'land'!) but the track looks ok.
It looks a little too 'Word' like for me (ie. the line tool in Microsoft Word), because it uses alot of tight hairpins that have curves before them. It's something that happened to me a lot when I used to use Word to do my basic outlines, so that could just be me picking up on that! I'd personally have a couple more definitive cornes as oppose to long curves that changes radius. I've made 2 'major' changes: *The removal of T4 *The furthering of what was T7 The other changes are fairly minor to do with angle/radius preference I'm assuming this is going clockwise? It looks quite nice. Selby |

Do we have a little bit more info on the track - like track length? Seems like it's either a mighty huge one or there's only one good overtaking spot there. All the other sections are too short connected by too tight corners - a bit like our very own Hungaroring, in this respect... Dan's modifications seem to help there though.
Another question: is there a reason this track was put in that particular spot? bio |

Actually, you're right. DTM does still race there. I have a terrible memory for remebering if a race is on a calendar like this, but personally even I don't think it would be built, even if it WAS improved. Just a concept that won't make it.
