CJDJ500 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Sicilian Race Tracks

Since the Targa Florio was discontinued in the 1970s, the island of Sicily has not had much to do with motor racing (even though some rallying races still compete at the old Targa Florio route).

But since I have recently come back from my holiday from Sicily, I have decided to create a few street courses there. So, here we go...

Palermo Street Raceway

Here is my first circuit, located in Palermo, the Sicilian capital.

It is approx. 3.55 miles (about 5.73km) in length, and long straights create lots of action, especially the final 2 corners (which are taken at quite high speeds), and the pit straight. 16 turns and narrow sections (the middle of the lap, in particular), should create plenty of action for spectators and drivers alike, and, just like in Monaco, one mistake and it could be all over for you, and possibly many others.

Catania Grand Prix

Here's another circuit: located in Catania, on the east coast of Sicily. The circuit location is 18.9 miles from Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. Track length is approx. 2.9 miles (4.67km) long. It has 18 turns, and is very narrow, the north end of the circuit especially, where cars twice run underneath arcs of Cataina's Archi Della Marina.

Personally, I think the possibility of this event happening is very unlikely, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with sharing your ideas with everyone.

Gran Premio di Trapani

This is my final circuit I have so far come up with. It's located in Trapani, on the western coast of Sicily and is about 3.7 miles in length. It has 16 turns, like my circuit in Palermo and, like both Palermo and Catania, is very narrow. My favourite corner on the circuit is turn no.7, which is a very long left hand curve, almost like the corners you'd get on NASCAR ovals, and leads on to a long straight, producing high speeds and an overtaking op.

Probably never going to happen, but like I said, play around with your ideas.
