The "Teams" page on CART.com has just listed Roberto Gonzales "officially"!
This has been a great couple of days! |

yup, with Dayle Coyne racing. Don't think that this has all happened in the last few days though... It's just they left the announcments til now. They participated in the Spring Training just like the rest. The only one who didn't was Tiago...
Anyway, bring on St. Petes! |

I'm just a pessimist who doesn't concede anything as "official" until it's "official"!
And now everybody's "official" and this is a great day! |

19 drivers, and 9 of them are rookies. That's not neccessarily good, and not neccessarily bad....just interesting.

Nineteen drivers, and none of them are Michael Andretti or TGF. Who could ask for anything more?

I think we'll see 22 cars on the grid by mid-season.

Where is Jumpin Joe Hietzler now? He did his best to kill CART but somehow the motor Gods brought us Chris Pook.

Maybe now I can finally stop holding my breath! It's been a long, long off (silly) season. You have got to give a pat on the back to the drivers and teams that held in there when at times it looked very dim for this season. Thank you for showing some nerve and foresight! (no pun intended!)

Bryan Herta was the rumour. Unless Mario's coming back...

Silly season continues...
In addition to Herta & Patrick, AR1 now seem to be reporting that Salo is a shoe-in with PK for St.Petersburg and Lotterer is close to a deal with Rahal to run a 2nd car under the JAG name. Last edited by Raven; 11 Feb 2003 at 23:11. |

If Pollock has a second car, Fittipaldi and Rahal have a 2nd that's 22 cars.

Mika Salo is indeed going to race at Sebring and Le Mans for Audi Sport UK. And who's Christian Murchison?

He is a Singapore born driver who raced in the Australia Formula Holden series with some success in 2000. He was close to a Prost F3000 deal in 2001 I seem to remember, not sure what he's been up to lately. I'd love to see him race, and although his credentials aren't high, he is certainly no worse than Camathias or Gonazalez for example.
GTRMagic, where did you hear this? |
