Vauxhall Astra Coupe

I have been looking at the history of the current crop of BTCC cars and I have been looking into the Vauxhall Astra Coupes, this is what I have found:-

- Was used by Egg Sport in 2001/02. The car was then sold to GA Motorsport who used it in 2003/04. They still have the car.

- The car was used again by Egg Sport in 2001/02. The car then transfered to Opel Team Sweden, who from what I can work out still have the car.

- The car was used by Yvan Muller in 2001/02, it was then sold to GA Motorsport who still have the car.

- The car was used in the opening round of the 2001 championship by Jason Plato, before changed into a 2 seater of 2002/03. In 2004 the car re-appeared in the BTCC and was used by Micheal Bentwood, then in 2005 the car then re-appered at the final meeting of the year and was used by Andy Neate.

- The car was used by Vauxhall in 2001/02 and 03. The car was then passed on to Opel Team Sweden who have used it since then.

- The car was built as a spare for the 2001 season. In 2002 it was used by Barwell Motorsport, the car then repear in 2003 from Snetterton onwards and was driven by Gareth Howell and run by Team Dymanics. The car was then sold to Tom Chilton's dad who still owns the car.

- The car was built for the 2002 season and was used by Barwell Motorsport. It then transfered to Rob Collard who used in 2003/04. For 2005 the car passed to Mark Proctor, I understand that the car has found a new home in Sweden.

- The car was built as a spare for the 2002 season. It was then used by Yvan Muller in 2003/04. In 2005 car was then used by Opel Performance Turkey.

- The car was used by VX Racing in 2003/04. Since the Croft meeting in July 2005 the car has been run by Techspeed for Fiona Leggate.

- The car was built as a spare for the 2003 season and was then used by James Thompson in 2004, until it was written off at Knockhill.

- The car was built to replace 010 from a spare shell. James Thompson used the car for the final few rounds of the 2004 season.
