News also has ramifications for the ST round at Ruapuna, wonder if a week is enough recovery time?

Mr Revhead has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Anyone heard any more re support classes at ruapuna? Little birdy told me there is a chance of the support classes pulling out!

From the Ruapuna Website:

Support Classes:
Rennsport - Mainland Super Saloons - South Island All Comers

http://www.canterburycarclub.co.nz/content.php

Google is your friend, little birdies usually aren't

You misunderstand. Story is a dispute has arisen recently (last week or so) and the support classes are not happy.
Just wondering if anyone else has heard the same. The little birdie is a reliable source.

I'm the class co-ordinator for the Rennsport group (which as mentioned we have 35 entrants). We're most happy with the everything that is in place & looking forward to the meeting.

Rennsport is CCC run so they have never had issues with CCC.
You would have been at the meeting last weekend then,
but possibly not for the after meeting discussion about next weekend specifically.

Anyway the issue was sorted and the classes reshuffled to suit,
so it all go ahead now.

.
Yeah not quite. When Rennsport was formed, we were offered the opportunity to run it as a register of the Canterbury Car Club so that we didn't need to form our own incorporated society, have a separate bank account etc & everything that goes with that i.e. we would have the benefit of the administrative support that the CCC could offer. Aside from that we run by a separate committee not controlled by CCC management.

Good to hear that the other classes are sorted, it's far too important a meeting for the V8ST's, CCC and motorsport fans to have it messed about with at the last minute.

You'd have to think Andy Knight is in with a good shot with the amount of testing he's done there, and only one Practice Session before Qualy.

Yeah agree Biggy, Knight is in with a good chance.

My top three in no particular order:

Jonny Mac
Jonny Reid
Andy Knight

Upsetters could be Ant again (he did very well in r3 at HD), and possibly Eddie Bell.

But who really knows eh? Even if murph can make it i dont think he'll have the same impact as what he did at HD

Also wonder who will driving the hotlaps that were auctioned on trademe for the charity Casper...? Will FC just step into this role?

I think murph was a major drawcard for the auction and for the weekend in general

Just went for a nosey down at Bush Inn, a really good turnout, lotta people around, some interesting things I spotted:

No more Falcons on the International Motorsport Falcons, big blank white spots on the doors for a sponsor?

The new guy

Bonnet vents optional?

and another signature hungry crowd

Great pics Biggy, that is interesting the lack of vents on the supercheap auto car, and also the castrol sponsorship.

Crowd numbers look good as does the weather. Lets hope for a great weekend for our South Island friends
