P1
P2
P3
P4
Combined Sessions P3 + P4

Interesting sessions, but depending on who you believe, cars were either on brand new softs, or pre-marked hundred year old worn out hards... or somewhere in between. DJR have told the world on FB that they used new softs on their Jim Beam cars... that didnt work for them... nor did Mr Coulthard's engineering realignment... although they claim the car has a technical issue with braking/setup

Tomorrow is payday...

Looks like 888 have found a way to match FPR's fuel economy...

Get the rules changed!

Got a query for those with a bit more knowledge about the V8SC rules. G.Tander did the top 10 shoot out and started the race today minus his passenger side mirror. Now it would only give a .1%better aero, but still, shouldn't you have to comply with whatever the rules in regards to body work are?

In-reality they are only a 3 car team. They only provide assistance to
TDR not run the car. But your right, out of all the teams that run 3 or more
cars they seem to be the most consistent. SBR are getting there, but haven't
nailed the consistency yet. WR only have 1 car up there. DJR, KR and BJR
are way off the pace and with a bit of luck snag one good result with 1 of
the cars. Running 1 cars consistently is hard enough let alone 3 or 4.

As for the mirror's A-A, I am pretty sure there's a rule in place for street
tracks where your allowed to remove the passenger mirror??

firstly does it give better aero, yes slippery, but offset by an unbalanced aero

secondly and the answer to your real question. passenger side mirrors are often optional on street circuits due to them often disappearing on the concrete walls

not disagreeing with you, but TD has certainly come forward this year, i wonder how close the link is between him and FPR

7 Ford's in top 10 quali, with HRT on pole.

8 Holden's in the top 10 and race end with FPR on the top step.

So which side shouts 'P' ?????

I have an idea about stopping the fuel economy races... get rid of the multiple settings for fuel mixture/ignition maps... easily fixed...

Don't stop things that add interest to the races.........if there are no variables the races just become another boring procession.

TD is going great and if not for the "6 and your out" kerb hopping policy
a top 8 finish was on the cards today.

As for the link, I can confirm that TDR have an FPR chassis and they do
have a technical alliance with FPR, but the car is prepared and run out of
TDR by the TDR crew and not FPR - unlike the RNR car, which is fully
prepared and run by FPR.

So no, on that basis you couldn't really call them a "4 car team".

I think the 'technical alliance' also includes a data link between the TDR & FPR garage and an FPR employee on race weekends.

Such a shame about the Giz yesterday. I had such high hopes for him. But on the plus side i thought Fabian had a strong race.

I have noticed in the past that Giz does often do better on the sunday, so fingers crossed

Q2 over

Davison
Winterbottom
Whincup
Lowndes
Reynolds
D'Alberto
Tander
Coulthard
Moffat
Holdsworth

FPR front row and Whincup hit the wall hard, with no doubt a bit od front suspension damage.

Q6

Mr Whincup snotted the nose of the #1 against the wall... some repair work needed before the race...

Mr Bright broke the front splitter of #8 over a kerb, needed a replacement & checkover in that session... yet the engineer he flung got the other car to 8th, while he is in a lowly 23rd...

FPR have some speed going...

Meantime... according to the V8SA update page, Mr D'Alberto copped a 25 point fine for his efforts with mr Moffat, while Mr Reynolds copped a similar hit to his points balance for his efforts with Mr van Gisbergen. Does the punishment fit the crime in either case? So.. why didnt the CAMS Stewards Summary get updated?
