That's the one.
I didn't realise there was a press release about it, hence the 'alluding'. |

From what I understand both F4 and FFord are going to be really well supported. I have maintained there is no reason why they can't co-exist and they should...

HHC, Lanan and MGR have four drivers between them and their are three privateers. To be fair, I've not heard signficantly greater announcements regarding Formula Ford drivers being signed for the forthcoming season.

Yeah F4 website has seven drivers confirmed but couldn’t see any drivers listed on FFord site. FFord Wikipedia page lists three. Interestingly though that the first FFord round is end of March where as F4 is a month later.

Not a new signing, but Falco Wauer will now race for Team KBS instead of running a privately entered car:
http://formula4.com/news/falco-wauer...-team-kbs.aspx KBS has been set up by 1993 British F3 champion Kelvin Burt. |

Not such a secret test... they posted a story and pictures earlier today
http://formula4.com/news/brdc-f4-car...netterton.aspx Jolyon Palmer's at the wheel in most of the pictures, but there's also someone else (presumably) in a white Stig helmet... http://www.formula4.com/main-gallery...first-run.aspx |

Always nice to have a GP2 driver on hand to test it out!
Person in a white helmet was probably a Bedford Autodrome instructor or F4 mechanic / team member to get the tracking shots. |

Have to say I think the car looks pretty awesome! Looks like a proper racing car if you know what I mean.

i've not seen a herd of them on track yet, nor watched them race, heard any opinions on what it's like to drive, seen where it fits in or how it's going to work in practice. it looks interesting, but until there's some more movement on the team/drivers front, what is there to say about it? it's just another new idea that won't actually really exist until a mob of whatever size line up on a grid for a race.
at least there's one of them going round in circles at this point though. it's a start! |

Looks like the F4 car is showing quite good pace if its doing 51's at Snetterton 300 on old tyres in cold conditions. Anyone know what sort of times BARC Renault and FFord run? |

Unfortunately we ran on the 200 circuit in the Formula Renault (BARC) championship last year so I cannot comment on that. Dominic Malvern |

I cant wait to start working on our two cars.
We think they will be roughly 2-3 seconds a lap slower than our f3 cup cars |

What was apparent was the mid range of the ECOBOOST which will be good to watch I think. New tyres 54.1 for Silverstone National. Both days very cold if not freezing so I guess good for the turbo motor but no tyre temperature. this is i think is 4 secs faster than 2011 Duratec Pole so on same circuit, Ecoboost could on some tracks be close to FR UK as the time our car did in 2011 at season closer was 53.8 which was good for front row if still 3.5 tenths of pole. I am unsure on the F4 in terms of were it will sit for lap time it seemed to have good body panel fit etc and aero package looks a little nicer than the Ford but it is 30Hp down so I would expect Ecoboost to be a little faster but we will see. Just on the BARC car, 2011 Thruxton in March it was run by our team without the restrictor but on BARC rubber , best lap 1.12.3 but data suggested improvement was possible but a tyre failure round the back meant restrictor was put back in on Advice of Michelin. Dont know if any of this info adds to the discussion. The Donington test for Ecoboost will be interesting as I suspect the car will be fast in lap time due to the short accleration shoots the cirucit has. Regards PC |
