DTM testing

Does anybody know how the DTM testing in Estoril went yesterday, and what's to be expected for today and tomorrow?

Mercedes doesn't open the door.

Autosports article about Merc's testing has got me wondering. Why did only Paffett and Scneider get a go in the '05 car? Does this mean they favour these two and Hakkinen and Alesi are just there for the crowds as ex-F1 stars.

And how much of a disadvantage will it be for Green running with Persson Motorsport and not the main AMG team, although still getting an '05 car?

If I remember well Schneider and Albers did the first tests last year.

Yes, one 2005-spec car for Jamie Green and one 2004-spec car, likely to be for Bruno Spengler.

It's the same reason F1 teams only test 1 car/driver at a time - cost. I'd presume that's the case anyway, plus two drivers doing a long days driving could probably cover all the points on the 'to do' list.

I wonder how serious are Alesi and Hakkinen about the DTM? Nice, fun drive? Or actually putting 110% to take the championship??

Hakkinen must be serious after all he's got quite a big reputation (and probably even bigger salary) to live up to!

The way Alesi drives and hustles for every position it's hard to say he does it for fun and I bet it will be the same with Mika.

Just because they're ex-F1 doesn't mean they aren't giving it their all, if they considered it a series below their talents they wouldn't be there.

Well if you have seen the face of Alesi after he got thrown out of the last race by Ekstrom you would be sure he is not there to just have fun...

I believe Mercedes will begin testing again in Estoril today, any times and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody know where i can get betting odds for the DTM races/championship?

P.s Hakkinen and Green will drive Albers' 04 car again.

Looking at that site, I expect the guy either works at Estoril or lives very close.

If I lived that close to a test track I'd be camping on the infield throughout the off season.
