pink69 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Clr

Does anyone else think that with more racing time before Le Mans, Mercedes would have solved the undertray problem with the CLR and they would have been able to run without the risk of flipping over.

good question, i am not well versed about the background to answer

on the face of it, i'd say yes. they had what, a few days, to correct the problem and they are so desparate for any direction they ask their f1 engineers for suggestions, one thinks they could've solved the problem with proper time, but scrambling to make the race, no one could probably fixed it in that time

OTOH, if it's true that they had these problems in private testing(which has been speculated), maybe not. maybe for whatever reason these engineers were missing what the problem was, or the problem was so bad it couldn't be corrected without basically redesigning the car so much that it in effect would be a new car. then again, how soon before Le Mans did this incident supposdly happen. again, maybe there wasn't enough time if it was in march or april??

Mark Webber has said that they hadn't had the problems in testing. But he also mentioned that they had no tested on undulating circuits like Le Mans, mainly at Ovals and such for high speed testing.

From what was said by many people, I'd say the problem was inherent in the car. Especially as the little winglets didn't help at all.
