Speed Limit Signs and Repeaters

Is there actually a requirement for repeater signs in a 30 limit, on a road through an industrial area(which feels like it should be a 40 imo), i drove along this road then others unsure if it was a 30 or 40(i did 30) for about two miles.

If there are street lights the limit is 30mph, no signs required, unless signs state otherwise. These signs would start with a large sign at the start of the limit followed by repeaters, not sure of the legal requirement for spacing though.

It doesn't matter how few there are, if there's even only one or two it's the national limit if signs don't dictate otherwise.

thats why I did 30, as i was told that whilst learning and never found any roads to see this.

I think there should be a minimum distance for repeater spaced apart

This makes it even more confusing
