Not exactly heartening news. Fingers crossed Quinn or another owner/ competitor keeps control of the championship & keeps its independence from v8sc

i would have thought 17 cars was not heartning news.

The 12 hour has grown under Supercars managment, so there is a possibility its a good thing

Clearly supercars have made changes, like supporting an all pro field and thus we ended with the biggest grid we have had in the race

I'm more than happy to provide you with **** all.

Time, and likely only time will provide the judgement on how my previous question is answered. But given the trajectory of Supercars' core business, I can't say that I'll subscribe to your brand of unquestioning adulation for the management.

good, thanks.

so looks good for Aust GT if supercars involve themselves then.

Fact check.

51 cars started in 2017 and 53 in 2013.

I can't see how V8SC involvement in AusGT will be positive in the long run of the category.

The category needs to work out does it want commercial exposure as its priority or does it want to prioritise track time / race formats for its drivers/owners.

Once they are clear on that and everyone commits to it - they decision of where and who they race with will be relatively straight forward

sorry, biggest grid of Gt3, acknowledge that 2013 also contained 4 cars that were not racing in the 12 hour, merely for points in the GT3 championship.

What happened in 2014.

so i guess thats all Supercars fault is it? There is only 1 supercars linked team out there.

How will it be better off if Supercars runs the GT show, if you got more cars to the Shannons enduro at PI than you did for the enduro on the Supercar program?

I love me an AMG, but it makes my eyes water to see probably $300k worth of damage in a single picture... These really are rich mans toys.

That pic of the steering wheel makes my eyes water. Ouch.

I was up on the hill and saw that happen, was a pretty brutal hit to watch, even more concerning was that Taylor didnt get out straight away but it sounds like hes gotten away without serious injury. Hes gonna be bloody sore for a while thats for sure.

Bring back the Porsche I say, geez it looked good in the STM colors

I wonder if this is a case of V8SC have made an offer or Tony Quinn trying to get out.

If its the latter - hopefully another buyer pops up.

CONFIRMATION – SUPERCAR IN TALKS FOR AUSTRALIAN GT TAKEOVER.

It looks to be a little from the latter and a little less from the former

What benefit does another buyer really bring DRT? Would still be in the same boat at TQ

When the first attempt at running this class under Procar helped send Mr Palmer to the wall, and the second attempt under Mr Quinn is seemingly at an end.

I doubt there is another game in town interested...

A corporate rather than a patron seems the logical solution. With a management group already in place, not needing to reinvent the wheel, and already having a decent schedule process in place to run with Supercar, and potentially without.

Imagine the positives, instead of defaulting to the negative.
