Hmmm the fact that I had a blast and got to live a bucket list dream.
The fact that I save a whole whopping $100 to purchase Corporate Tickets again for the weekend. These are to be booked by end of January.

And I swayed the wife over with a Trip to Melbourne the weekend before so we can watch the AFL Grand Final, spend a few days there, then travel to Sydney and have a few days there then the boys head to the track whilst the girls do their thing or go home
The lady said she may even venture to the track for the Thursday to see the real deal after me carrying on about it for the past 30 plus years I have been with her

Good family holiday all round

Technically, if it's only 1, it's not very together...

(But I know what you were intending - 1 couple)

I took my wife once.

1998. The race was in November that year.

Wear a big hat I said. "It'll be warm..." I said.

Didn't expect she'd bring out the large brim hat with the pink rose on the front...

We had only just walked in the gate. Been in maybe 5 minutes looking for a spot to sit.. Amid a chorus of wolf whistles and calls for her to "show us your ***s" a drunk idiot with a can in each hand and wearing all the V8 merchandise he could afford staggers over. "What do you think it is darl? Fashions on the Field???"

She's never been back...

I haven't missed one since.

Life is short, spend the kids inheritance and adventure before dementia!

Way to go sandgroper, you can't take it with you.

It is a fantastic week at Bathurst, right from when you arrive at get your first glimpse of the mountain!

It is almost a spiritual experience!

Make sure you do the motoring museum, go up to the top and watch action on and off the track, and have a wander around the pits it is amazing who you will see or meet.

Thanks King, this is my second trip after my Virgin Bathurst visit last year which was one of the best weekends I have had, so I thought I would have a second shot at it. I did everything you suggested and I shall be doing it all again.

Cant wait !

We wanted to stay at the track. Have signed up for the camping info . Seems to be differences in site sizes at different grounds plus we would prefer a family friendly area I would assume up on the mountain wouldn't be real suitable.

If anyone is chasing Accommodation for Bathurst Im about to give up 1 of my "prebooked units" (park home) for that 1 weekend. I booked 2 but now only require 1..............about 30klms from the track.

If interested PM me and I can pass on the details. I shall be cancelling this booking no later than this Friday 12th Feb

Opps sleeps 6 = 2 rooms (1 double bed + 2 bunk beds) self contained.

Flying over from the UK for this years 1,000. First time visiting the Mountain. Would like to visit another 4 wheeled motorsport event the weekend before the Great Race. Any one got any suggestions?

Wakefield Park, even wester!

Mike, you can head for Bat-hurst from Wakefield Park by heading for Taralga or alternatively, Crookwell etc...probably the route I would prefer.

I have been reading in previous years that campsites sell out very quickly? I was thinking of camping in the chase campground, what is a site worth?
