There is more than one Kerry Wade you know, just to confirm, has your Kerry Wade ever driven Improved Production in an exceedingly hot Escort?

How about Ray Vandersee - went close to finishing runner up on Targa Tasmania in a car he built himself.

I agree with Oaksnaf on Reinhardt, he was very quick in a car that my brother raced back in 99 and before him Steve Owen.... My bro finished 3rd in the Vic State Series in it....
Nick Parker is another gun, and watch out for Josh Hughes when he makes the transition to cars in 07 .... Josh Scott is another young gun with plenty of speed so far...... |

Ability to dominate on a wet track is a telling sign-Richards and Brock both had this.
Its too hard to compare talent unless you split it into drivers of openwheelers/race-built specials and modified street cars. Someone like the late Peter Hopwood could wring the most out of any car but never became a household name.I dont think there are really all that many like him in the amateur world. |

I would say Rodney Crick and Wayne Wakefield, the top 5 blokes in Saloons, HQs and Commodore Cup. Thats way more than 10, sorry. |

I would put James Small on the list. In that junkbox Mygale (prior to the reworking of the chassis) it was several seconds quicker in one really bad wet session at Phillip Island a couple of years ago. The young guy has talent in the seat, and can actually prepare a car also, so knows what happens under the covers as well

well gtr as always u hit the nail on the head. Tony only needs seat time.
I remember tony once saying the alfa is a racing car you need to grab it and drive it hard. A V8 is like puting your arm on the door and driving down the freeway! Give him a car with downforce and you wont see him for dust. |

Damien White is a good example. He, to my knowledge, hasn't had massive amount of Supercar seat time and he hardly set the world on fire in the Britek machine at Sandown/Bathurst last year. He was however very impressive in his Fujitsu debut in a PMM (read: well engineered) VZ. Give Tony a better car and you would see a better performance. |

Surely Simon Evans, a paid employee of Toyota Team Australia / Neal Bates Motorsport, is considered a professional?

I'm not standing anywhere, I'm sitting comfortably. I'm the stats boy remember. There will always be flaws in a sats based equation.
I'd like to think he was better than his results because I'd like to think a star driver could come from Sports Sedans, but its so hard to tell in this instance. |

Falc stats always lie mate.
Was Gilles Villeneuve a backmarker? Stats surgest that. Was Chris Amon a bad driver for all his DNF's? Stats lie more than anything else (except a past ferrari driver and a v8championthat love to lie)<MY VIEW ONLY> |
