006_007 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Could this be the turning point in the Fisi vs Massa battle?

Session 1 had Massa in front by close to a second, but they were probably doing different setup/information work.

Session 2 though is the closest I have seen Fisi to Massa all year.

Massa - 1:33:031
Fisi - 1:33:061

Should be an interesting battle between the "other" Ferrari drivers.

On a side note, I am not sure what my fascination is between these two. I am not really a Sauber fan, nor would I classify myself a fan of either driver. I must just find it interesting that Fisi is such a highly rated driver by many and yet his hands seem pretty full at the moment with Massa.

OK, stop, refocus on the front end of the grid.....

Massa was doing well certainly, but writing off fisi after two races was a little premature I thought. However a Friday morning practice session being a turning point

You are right, it is an interesting intra-team battle.

Intresting that whilst "friday could be a turning point" Massa is still fractionally ahead.

Adam is right, Fisi shouldn't be written off.....yet, but he should be very disappointed with himself that he has allowed Massa to gain an advantage, this can only be doing Massa's stock to world of good!

It's interesting to watch, wild and lurid Massa against 'underated' Fizzi....both theoretically auditioning for Ferrari's favours.

Another point, well made. It's early days yet but I've noticed that we (including myself) have drawn some interesting conclusions about drivers from the first two races.

Haven't noticed this phenomenon (phew) before.

Hmmm, should it really take a veteran like Fisi, who by the way, wants a Ferrari ride, till mid-season, to come to grips with Massa?

IMHO, no way!

I only do not know whether i should be disappointed with Fisi's lack of pace, or should be impressed with Massa doing better.

Is Fisi a bad driver? I don't think so... Is Massa a great driver? I don't think so...

I think Massa must be doing better this season. After a year testing for Ferrari, you'd damn well want to hope so.

Massa intrigues me - anyone who's heard Martin Brundle talk about him will have heard how his style is so utterly unconventional - he does seem to chuck the car about rather alot, and he doesn't half turn in early...

... so how the is he so quick?!

Sure it would look much better if Fisi came in and out did Massa right away like all his previous teamates. And if he does top Massa... wich I think and hope he does, if it takes a few races or mid season or even the end of the season.. it takes nothing away from Fisi... Masa did drive for the Sauber team 2 years ago and he has unlimited testing in the "Blue Ferarri" last year...so Massa should look a little better than Fisi right away, exspecially with all the hype about Massas potenital. One thing for sure it is way to early to right off Fisi. I actually hope both Fisi and Massa do better this year with the Saubers and get some regular points

Massa's been very impressive so far, no doubt about it. Even with the occasional off-track excursion he is still consistantly outpacing Fisichella, which should not be happening considering how highly Giancarlo is rated by fans and his fellow drivers, and that he has destroyed every team-mate he's faced (including several who have established themselves as frontrunners elsewhere).
