That's odd, I can't imagine why RE would pull out.
There is nothing on their website either. Could it be a mistake in the results?

As far as I know, no cars will be entered by Racing Engineering in Spanish F3 in 2007, although their team will possibly still operate for someone else.

Additionally Team West-Tec could add an ex-RE Class A car yet to our two Class B cars and we also retain our link with Racing Engineering, via their GP2 team.

Sad to see them not there but I think there are plenty of other top quality teams in the series to take up any slack.

Oh , I am very impressed with the West Tec and Christian performance in your first time, I observed your Box at the end of the Pit Lane

Sorry but I only go to the Jerez Test because I live and study in Jerez and this year I have not Team to work but in the next Jerez Test or Race in Jerez I will go to say hello to the Team

P.D If you need any help in Jerez you can say me and Welcome to the Spanish F3 Championship

strange decision, isn't it? they have announced their drivers back in november... it looked like everything was all set for 2007. Are they moving to the International Masters?

No , in first time the idea was Spanish F3 but problems with deals and drivers blocked the project , I have the original calendar for F3 2007 with Races and Test but I think Project will be cancelled

West-Tec say they could enter the A Class this year as well as B Class with a car purchased off Racing Engineering - me thinks Racing Engineering will not appear this year and are looking to sell their cars.

Big shame, but I suppose they can concentrate on GP2 now and it may release more funds too.

in generall RE's boss is very quiet when he has to talk about himself...

Is there still a F1 testing offered to the winner of the championship in 2007 , even with the engine change FIAT (toyota)

A Ferrari test would be a nice prize wouldn't it?

I haven't heard anything about it though. My guess is that there is no more F1 test for the Spanish F3 Champion...

there is no sense in giving the test if the engines are FIAT now.

Official
http://www.italiaracing.net/notizia.asp?id=13955&cat=11

aparently the reason is coming from the big diference between RE and the other team regarding the budget requiered

they are saying the seat was sold 200K euros for the whole season in Spanish F3

I guess it's official:

Today GP2 and F3 team Racing Engineering announced that it will quit their Spanish F3 activities to focus on higher categories such as GP2.

After six years in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship and having won the team championship in all its years of participation, Racing Engineering has taken the decision to aim for new goals in motor sport and retire from Spanish Formula 3.

This is the logical consequence of events. Racing Engineering did the same after consistently stepping on the podium in two consecutive years of another intermediate category. Such intermediate categories are for drivers and teams who wish to grow in efficiency and performance and there is no reason to stay dominating forever, in Racing Engineering's opinion, if there are higher challenges to go for.

Racing Engineering will now center all its efforts in GP2 and prepare for the new challenges ahead.

Alfonso de Orleans-Borbon said: "Six consecutive team championships, three driver championships, two driver vice-champions and a third place. Plus all four Racing Engineering drivers winning within one season, what more could we have expected? And all this was achieved together with Repsol, a great partner at our side! But now it's time to concentrate on new goals and challenges. Some people want an easy life, we prefer challenges."
