some new old stuff added to my flickr images...

After roughly nine months of not adding anything...last year was a difficult year on this end...I added some new images today. "New era" Can Am.

I have a lot of images scanned in my wayback machine that I will be adding in the new future...from various series.

Here is the link to all my sets......

been a while since i added very much so i figured an update is in order.

i've added stuff in a fair number of "albums" as sets are now called albums and i've added some new sets, all of which can be accessed from the link below. most of the recent stuff can be found in the can am and testing sets.

in the testing set there are a number of shots from the only time the don halliday designed kraco kr-1 ran. driven by pete halsmer in the test, it was never raced. even though the car ran competitive times robin herd convinced kraco to run march 86Cs for michael andretti. the added inducement was that adrian newey also became the engineer for the team.

be forewarned though, flickr has been updated, "upbuggered" as one wag suggested, and depending on the browser you use it can be a little bothersome.

i will be adding new old stuff as time allows as i now have a fair number of images waiting to be uploaded.

Brilliant pictures. And Keke Rosberg captured many times in the Can AM section. Actually not many Finnish motorsports fans even know or remember that Keke competed in the new era Can Am.

he was as committed in the big cars as he was in the smaller formula cars.....

https://www.flickr.com/photos/46681980@N03/14180061646

one race at laguna the crew had to put double-sided tape on the steering wheel so he could hang on.

he had crashed in practice or qualifying writing off the car after bending it nearly in half. he was banged up pretty good.

serious commitment from that boy!!

thank you people. there are days when all i do is go through my old stuff, scan it and upload it to flickr. i have approximately 75k images in my archives.

it always reminds me of how much fun i had and how many of the people in the pics made it that way.

tom gloy is one of my oldest friends in the game and we stay in touch. told him recently that because of people like him and many others i got a lot of good stuff the other photogs might not have.

it was because of the relationships i had with people that i was often was invited to take pics that other photogs couldn't.

there are a lot of pics in my people set that should illustrate all this.

this is one of a series i got because a couple of newman's wrenches invited me into the garage.

even pit poopsie shots could be pretty rewarding.

Yup yeah!

Just a note to casual readers - if you have not clicked through to Marc's Flickr stream... DO! I've been casually following his posts for some time now and he seems to have an endless supply of really great photographs from "back in the day". Educational and artistic all at once. Do go and have a look (WARNING - may turn into a huge time suck ).
