Whats your favourite Sportscar Series?
For me personally its got to be FIA GT, the racing is some of the most exciting in the world and the series looks like it has a big future.

It probably has to be the FIA GTs at the mo, though I'm hoping the new Le Mans 'Classics' series (or whatever they're going to call it!) is going to be good.
What we really need is a World Sportscar Championship again. |

Has to be the ALMS, because, for me, sportscar racing is about variety and multi-class racing.

well the ALMS has direct links to lemans
and so does FIA SCC, and GT the ALMS combines the two which is why it gets my vote. as they all go to LeMans it is tough. Too bad Trans Am is an inter team battle series, all Jag's and Rocketsports. If the series had more variety in makes and more competitors it would be so vastly improved. And Speed Gt is very much the same way, as it is Chamion and few other challenging. but hten all the big CH'ships are like that i guess |

Yes I made a mistake Paul, but if u notice I did put a "other" option because I might have left one out by mistake. If I could change the poll I would swap Trans Am with Grand Am, but as I cant I guess u will just have to put ur vote in the "other" section, sorry.

on topic of sports car series- Why would Trans-Am get a slot then over Speed GT, and no JGTC?
but you included the Spanish GT series which I have heard very little of. So what was your criteria (out of curiosity) or was it first thought of first placed. because I must say Trans-Am as much as I like it, isn't much different than DTM now, it seems the Past TA series was more Sportscar than the Present silhoutte tube frame V8 racers. |

Well I guess the main reasons for me putting the options that I have is im European, and cars from British GT, Spanish GT, compete in major sportscar events as well as their national series. Cars from Speed GT, JGTC dont. Another main reason for me putting mainly European series is because on the whole this board has a more European fan base.
I guess I named the series I did because it didnt occur to me to enter Grand Am, JGTC, Speed GT etc because Ive never actually seen any of the series, either at the track or on TV. Trans Am I just included and probably made a mistake in doing so, and as Ive said id swap it for Grand Am. I guess if u did the same thread as myself u would probably not have included series that I would have, ie Euro GT, Spanish GT, Belcar. Although I dont know for sure. I knew Id have to miss some series out though as u only get 10 options. |

i would have left out spanish gt, and ffsa, and Trans Am as it is more DTM like in sports car chassis and more national than not.
but good job. And it is true it is mostly European audiance here, I know the Site through Mulsannescorner.com speaking of does anyone have a Tentenths Patch? I want one for my Fire suit to show off on club days and Gymkhana |

Speed GT is more of a Super Touring category anyway.

Speed GT is as much a GT/Sportscar series as JGTC, Trans-Am, or Grand-Am.
Actually, Trans-Am started out as a touring car series. Seeing as nearly every car raced in the series' history has had four seats, I think it really fits more in the same category as DTM, as a touring car series that's being sort of *******ized in the name of marketing. |

ALMS, others are quite small potatoes.

Im sorry, but are u saying the FIA GT series is a small Potato? HA HA HA, yeah ok then. Apart from the fact they have the best quality GT/GTS NGT/GT competitors in the world for a single series. The quality in ALMS GTS and GT isnt up to the standard of the GT and NGT class of FIA GT.
Just think u have in FIA GT. Labre (well sometimes), BMS, Force One, Freisinger, Care Racing, Lister, Konrad, TMC, RWS, Emka, Eurotech, JMB. FIA GT may not be as attractive as other series to most people, as it dosent have LMP cars but the teams it does have in the GT's are second to none. One thing that is certain, FIA GT is not a small potato. |

FIA GT is the best.
ALMS is too limited and governed by Le Mans. |

Sorry, Saleen, but if you think Corvette and Prodrive wouldn't spank every one of those teams, you're wrong.
And I bet Alex Job would school JMB and Freisinger, too. |
