Do we know if Pink and the greatest show on wheels continues after the amazing success of the strategy in 2010?

I wonder how many other 'international series' have a commercial sponsor as part of their core branding?

The ALMS, is branded as the "American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron" in all their radio, TV broadcasting, website and promotional material.

NASCAR is not controlled by the FIA.
Is ALMS? Or is that a simple branding exercise from the ACO to a local promoter outside of the FIA?

Lots of sporting categories include the title sponsor name in their public branding (as opposed to their logo).

AFL and NRL both do with Toyota and Telstra respectively. Nothing new, or controversial.

They may have to, I doubt she'll be releasing her tune now that she's pregnant (thank god).

The BTCC have Dunlop as a title sponsor, but it's not directly part of the logo in the way NASCAR is, and obviously no-one continually bleats on about the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship ...

The BTCC isn't an FIA touring car series though.

The "Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship" is no different to the "Shell Australian Touring Car Championship" that we called the series here for years

Why does it matter if it's an FIA category or not? It's a branding exercise. It's a commonplace practice. Not sure why knickers are getting twisted here.

Being tied to the FIA is hardly just a branding exercise.

For starters the deal allows even more overseas races, and no doubt the deal will include other little things. Time will tell whether its a good move or not, the last national touring car series to do this was the DTM in the mid-90s... it was dead within 18months.

If the V8's are now a Fia recognised Championship, does the above apply or is this just a glory seeking exercise, to promote the series overseas.

Oh look we are a FIA sactioned championship.
