As Mr Dane has pointed out, the other Holden runners procrastinated too long. That Erebus was affected by the backlog, is a different discussion altogether

Well the proper thing to do would be to supply their customers first and only look after themselves once their customers were satisfied.

Guess this is the problem of having a team who is right in the thick of championship battle trying to develop a new car at the same time. Was HRT (as in Walkinshaw Racing) responsible for previous homologations or was it handled in house by Holden's now defunct motor sport division?

Spot on, if you want to retain any credibility, then again different story with an absolute monopoly, where else can the customers go ?

Besides, with little idea who was running what, they really needed to be prepared to supply every team with ZB panels (26 sets) |

It wasn’t until a particularly vocal Speedway man threatened to pull a gearbox out of 05 himself that one was made available to his team. Weird then, weird now... |

What's the point in being the 'works' team, being expected to get the best results, and having the most responsibility hinging on you; if you can't have access to all the good bits which you are responsible for homologating; first and foremost?

Exactly. T8 is doing what everyone would have known they were going to do before being awarded the tender. Whinging after the fact seems petty, stirring up bad press for T8. Not to mention some teams were quite late to jump on the ZB train

The hold up is with the composite parts that are specific to the racecar. Teams already have the Holden-supplied panels, as well as all the CAD data for the brackets, mounting hardware, and where to modify the road car's panels to suit the chassis. Worth noting that the Lowndes car shown at launch, is the Redbull/HRT car re-liveried. Let's suppose that Triple Eight themselves are also stressing over parts availability |

The BJR ZB cars in-build still have the VF dashboards in them, a part that was missing from the Autobarn car last night.
Is a dashboard an aero part? |

That must be why the RBHRT and Autobarn cars have been presented with tinted windows.
Must not complete on the inside. |

Everyone else dithered so T8 had to change the quantities of things, and you can't just make one person's order because they ordered first, everything is going to be done in batches, and when I saw how late the aero approval was, I knew this was going to be an issue. |

Probably a show car or a VF reskinned. Unlikely 888 would have wanted one of its cars out of the shop for the best part of a week for the Sydney release not to mention the inherent risks involved. Race transporters have been nicked before.

Wasn't Holden themselves responsible for teams making a late decision to switch to ZB?
Didn't Holden advise all teams in November, their supply of VF 'parts n panels' would be cut off at years end? Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk |

I think that's a seperate issue. It was known somewhere in the first half of last year, that Holden was going down the ZB path.

It was presumed that this was in conjunction with the a mandatory V6TT, which the majority of Holden teams had no interest in running and hence they were planning to stick to the V8/VF Commodore package until it was announced the ZB could be paired with the existing V8.

Delaying the aero for so long may have been part of it. Biggest smokescreen Roland has put up in a while I reckon. |

The Daily Telegraph have labelled the new Holden a 'Commo-bore' on page 3 of their fine publication today, rubbishing the car in a pun laden piece of opinionist 'journalism'.... I use that term loosely.
