From everything I've seen, most were impressed by Bathurst... Which featured local drivers, and genuine racing... As opposed to the manufactured gimmick that didn't result in much excitement (except for James Moffat in Race 1 - a local) at all in 600km of racing... |

It was my understanding that all the international drivers were all contracted, paid, fed and watered by V8SC and that individual teams were not contracting them on their own.

Say for example the wish to close the championship up a little heading onto the Gold Coast round - can of worms Any more word on the international categories the Qld Government was looking at? |

Similarly Mr Liuzzi raced in an RPM Wilson Security race suit, but it had his F1 backers (Tata and UMS) stitched into the design. Mr Farfus had a GRM race suit but it was devoid of any Holden branding, in deference to his day job at BMW Motorsport. Mr Long wore a 'The Team' race suit, as opposed to a Jim Beam one, and brought along longtime team sponsor FXDD to the suit and the race car, as did Mr Pagenaud at GRM. While going the other way, Mr Bourdais took on a Vodafone visor sticker for his helmet on the Gold Coast weekend... Not sure how many main game teams would have the freedom to modify their race suit branding packages to suit this event... but it is a bit more complex to satisfy their commercial requirements from the other side of the world.. |
