Can someone describe how they work? Does the pin pull out completely to separate the panels? If so I have an application for them where 'standard' bonnet pins won't work.

Bevan-L. They shouldn't cost more than 5 or 6 quid to post them to you.
If you like. PM me telling me exactly what ones/colour you want and I'll see what I can do.

Gordon is right, I buy bike parts from the UK all the time and the Royal Mail service is excellent, 3-4 days and well under 10GBP for most stuff, usually about 6GBP for small gear. I reckon DT has quoted on a UPS or something like that (last time something came to me from UPS it went UK-Ger-US-US-Guam-Jap-Sing-Syd-Mel and took 12 days... 3/4 of the way around the world! Regular mail goes direct UK-Sing-Mel)

Try someone else, and let DT know why they lost the business
(BTW you could also look at Meridian Motorsport in Mel, they have quite a few specialist fasteners, not sure of price, but less than that!)

Yes they work by a ball on the inside end popping out when they are pushed in and released with the ring pull (just like a decent socket set)
The only problem I can see is the price, they come in 3 different pin lengths and work out at approximately £110 a pair ! its the pins that are the most expensive at £33 each ! although in the DT catalogue they seem to list a cheaper pin, but I don't know if they are compatible with the said base.
I would think that they are for pit stops where every second counts, and to us mere clubbies it dosent really apply and I will continue with my piece of old baler twine

At that price, cheaper to buy a Seat boot lid from a scrapper/right off.
