NDYCAR announced today a multiyear dealwith NBC Sports Group, which will include the 103rd Indianapolis 500.

This is an increase from five races on broadcast television this year, with the rest of next year’s races airing on NBCSN,

Anisa should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
IndyCar thinks it deserves for ticket prices let alone a title sponsor it will be hard to replace IZOD and please the replacement.

IZOD stopped being the series sponsor at the end of the 2013 season. Verizon are the current sponsors until the end of this season. A new series sponsor, from 2019 onwards is yet to be announced.

Let's hope they can get another chassis manufacturer in. If not, try and get some differentiation between Chevy and Honda but nothing as drastic as last time.

Alternatively, buy up a load of old Reynards and Lolas, .

The latest on the future of Belle Isle Indycar race: No decision has been made yet. From the Detroit Free Press:

While officials on Tuesday shared good news that Belle Isle remains the most-attended state park in Michigan, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over the future of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix being held on the island.

The race has been the subject of recent protests by residents upset about the environmental impact on Belle Isle as well as the numerous disruptions to the park in the weeks surrounding the race. This is the last year of the current contract for the race, which runs June 1-3.

Council President Brenda Jones noted that she has continued to receive concerns from residents. Jones read a letter from a resident who wrote, "I am hoping we do not renew the Grand Prix. ... These are people I suspect never go to Belle Isle aside from the Grand Prix."

Here's a more detailed story on the future of the Belle Isle race from the Detroit News. The key points:

The future of the Detroit Grand Prix remains up in the air as an existing agreement to host it on Belle Isle is set to run out this year and organizers discuss whether to drive ahead.

State Department of Natural Resources officials told Detroit City Council on Tuesday during an annual briefing on the island's progress that an existing five-year agreement to host the race was honored by the state when the DNR assumed management of the island as a state park Feb. 10, 2014, under a 30-year lease agreement with the city.

"So far, we have not received a request for going forward in the future," said Ron Olson, parks chief for the state DNR. "Right now, we're just taking care of this year, and we'll have to see when and if we get a proposal and then evaluate it."

I guess despite Arrow Electronics' "oh well that's racing" approach, SPM decided the axe had to fall somewhere. Seems shortsighted to me, only five races in to the season. Hope she ends up somewhere good, she has so much experience engineering cars that are way more complex than today's IndyCars.

That's some bulls***. She deserves better than that. Oh well. I never have cared for hinchcliffe, this just adds another reason not to.

You're apprently forgetting the work she did with Audi Sport in LMP1 and Bentley in GT3 as far as race engineer (Audi) and head of the management for the GT3 program (Bentley).

Different discipline and environment, but winning Le Mans several times overall as a race engineer can't be overlooked.

Marshall Pruett seems to be suggesting that it was a personality clash and problems during the month of May leading up to Hinch's DNQ is why she was forced to resign.

Her leaving SPM sounds mutual. She says in that article: "With our different backgrounds in motorsport, it was like two differing worlds working towards the creation of a strong base for a young, dynamic team, and in this situation, the two worlds didn’t quite work out."
