Granada Sport and British Motorsport Promoters are delighted to confirm that Scottish TV (STV) and Grampian will be taking coverage of the Green Flag 2002 MSA British Touring Car Championship with immediate effect.

This agreement, along with recent confirmation from HTV and Ulster TV, means that BTCC coverage is now being screened by all ITV1 regions.

Said BTCC Series Director Richard West:

"Following on from the early news regarding the addition of HTV and Ulster to our broadcast package for the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship, the announcement today that STV and Grampian have joined us is tremendous news. This now means that our goal of achieving UK network coverage for the championship has been achieved and I am particularly delighted for all our fans in the STV region."

Granada Sport's coverage of the BTCC occupies a prime one-hour Saturday afternoon slot on the ITV1 network. All ten events are televised on a one week deferred basis, with seven of them screened after Grand Prix qualifying. All races are shown between 13.30 and 15.00.

The Granada Sport team has a wealth of experience in televising motor racing and other sporting showpieces. Commented Jim Raven, Granada Sport's Managing Director:

"Next to Formula One, we believe the BTCC to be the most prestigious motorsports series in the UK and we are delighted to welcome it to the ITV family."

ยท Full list of ITV1 regions (all of whom now carry BTCC coverage): LWT, Meridian, Anglia, Granada, Yorkshire, Tyne Tees, Border TV, Channel, Central, HTV, Ulster TV, STV, Grampian
