Yeah at the end it picked up, it was great.
Suzuka too, Finally Weider won a race, I've been rooting for them this season with Mako. I'll miss the HSV-010, one of my favorites race cars. |

McLaren just sign Peter Prodromou for 2015! Mr. Prodromou is the chief aerodynamicist for Red Bull! 2015 McLaren Honda is looking better and better! Now all they need is a top level driver. Sorry for being off topic guys I know this is a sportscar forum :/

Still, if AWD is permitted for both classes, maybe a certain manufacturer like Audi would utilize it on Japanese turf with their DTM race car, just like the R18. |

Tsutomu Tojo (Team Tom's Engineer)'s 2014 GT500 car impression @SUGO test.
*Honda NSX -Top speed is slow about 10 km/h. However, total lap time is equal. -It seems to have good drivability. *Nissan GTR -Top speed ranks second to LF-CC. -The action of a machine is stable. *Lexus LF-CC -Top speed is fastest. -The action in SP corner shows a lack of rigidity. http://gazoo.com/my/sites/0001452434...t.aspx?ID=3162 |

The times are interesting, all within half a second. Once the Lexus is more stable it will be hard to beat if the top speed advantage is still there. But as of now the GTR is quickest in testing.
1. Nissan GTR; AM time 1:37.393/ 22 laps. PM time 1:15.301/18 laps 2. Lexus LF-CC; AM time 1:17.210/ 35 laps. PM time 1:15.515/ 52 laps 3. Honda NSX; AM time 1:23.391/ 18 laps. PM time 1:15.893/ 53 laps |

These lap times are favorable for such early development pace. Top Qualifying time for Sugo this season was 1:14.660. They are about a half second slower in testing times but these cars have a good ways to go before the 2014 season.

Autosport magazine SGT report
*Autopolis round review -Autopolis is a circuit where the problem of pickup of tire debris occurs easily. -Team Tom's foresaw the pickup phenomenon and adjusted to understeering. *Interview to Michael Bernard (ITR) We have decided to introduce 2 liter D4 DI turbo engines in 2016 ahead of introduce of new technical regulations. Technical regulations might be corrected about the heat problem of turbo. About the engine life, we propose 6000 km and GTA has proposed 3000 km. We will concede to GTA. About hybrid system, although it is a good idea technically, it is politically very difficult theme. Actually, not all manufacturers are supporting the introduce of hybrid. |

According to Kunihiko Kakimoto (NISMO Supervisor)'s tweets,
the new car cost of 2014 GT500 is 1/2 of the present GT500 chassis. However, if chassis are exchanged every year, the cost will rise than now. But, it is certain that running cost declines. https://twitter.com/kakkie1020/statu...46460383068160 |

Thats what I been hearing from the first tests that the Tub/chassis is week and they do not think it can race more than one season with it.

The new GT500 cars share regs with DTM, right? I'm pretty sure the driving position in DTM is center, like an F1 car. Seems strange that the new GT500 cars wouldn't go that route as well.

If it is updated, the cost would rise up. Still, should they return to the drawing board and make a monocoque that would last for 2-3 seasons instead of one?
