Think it was previously mentioned that V8SA only holds a master contract with Fox, who are in turn are required to find a free-to-air network partner to fulfill the anti-siphoning requirements. So V8SA's position appears secure, it is Fox who may have to take a haircut on its deal with 10.

Bruce Gordon and Lachlan Murdoch are still hoping that they can override the CBS deal. If they succeed, we would probably end up seeing Fox do Ten's sports programs.

That's a lot of deliberate no balls to get that money back!!
The fact remains, platforms like Facebook and Youtube etc are now a player in the market. |

Creditors accept CBS offer: That works for us
Subject to court and regulatory sign off but no doubt the chubby lady is warming up her tonsils. Report says that Mr Gordon is considering an appeal, don't know on what grounds. |

According to a report in the Herald Sun, ten had a five year plan to gut this sport and Formula 1

Well, OK all sounds like a fine plan to me.
Ten is a commercial station, they can make do without expensive regional programming -- seems fine. It's not like the ABC cancelling their local AM radio stations -- now *that* would be an outrage, it's just commercial tv (mostly rubbish programming, aside from Ten's excellent "Have you been paying attention?" and of course their quality motorsport studio segments), it's no big deal. |

Im sorry, did that article refer to the biggest loser as being popular? the same one they axed after 2 weeks from primetime and got shuffled to daytime TV?
apart from that, consolidating the news broadcasts to one location probably makes sense. So hows that TV deal looking now? crawling back to 7 or Fox only? |

Depends on what the exit clauses are.
The network may see it as a liability and better to offload while putting in reruns of MASH that cost them near nothing for better advertising ROI. I believe that Bathurst is still on the anti siphoning list so is safe in one way or another. as for the rest of the season, well id suggest that the 30 odd people that watch the 8 hour delayed race on FTA may be upset. |

On another Daily Telegraph article. It says that Formula 1 and Supercars won't extend beyond current contracts. Which indicates they will honour the agreement. Considering there is next year and 2019 of F1. 2018, 2019 and 2020 of Supercars left.

It's probably cheaper to honour the existing agreement rather then pull the pin and get penalised/sued for breach of contract.

So it seems like this is Fox playing hard ball over the whole 10 deal. From what was released at the time, Fox's contract with Supercar requires Fox to arrange for live broadcast on FTA for a number of races so Fox is contractually bound to keep providing a live feed for those races. Seems like MotoGP might be similar. The way the article is worded sounds like this is a Fox decision, not a 10 decision. |
