There are diagrams of other circuits in the Bill Mantovani book but they are a bit small to scan. IIRC there were some in one of the Rallycross trust magazines a few years back. I'll see if I can dig them out.
What surprised me was, the amount of tracks that used to host rallycross. I wonder how many others are gone forever, and how many could be resurrected.

Another one for the gone forever is Cadwell Park fantastic rallycross track in the 80's and early 90's. all the loose and concrete sections that were part of the old stockcar track have all been dug out and grassed early this year.

Thats great. Thanks silver bullet.

Don't know anything about Long Marston, but another old track that is gone and never to return is Deep Cut near Farnborough. It was run in an old quarry with huge natural walls round parts of it and steep drops in the track where the cars became airborne.

Hello all, am new here. Watched rallycross since about three years old back in the days of the Superprix at Brands

How come Brands Hatch is on the gone forever list? The track is still there. It is the best rallycross track in the country (slightly biased as I am from Kent, but also due to the view you get and facilites). Is this just politics that I am being ignorant of?

Hi Hickey, welcome to ten-tenths

Brands is on the "gone forever" list as the loose sections have mostly been grassed over (south bank remains but that's mainly because it's useful for parking).

and the loose sections were made from broken house bricks some of them not that broken new windscreen for every heat.

How many took place at North Weald? I think I can remember at least a couple - one was a bitterly cold winters day with thick snow on the ground. Is my memory playing tricks or did an NSU do well that day? Also, did I see my first ever rallycross RS200 there?

The one i remember at north weald turned into a swamp on the loose and i think was abandoned as most of the top runners struggled for traction allowing the small engined cars to run away with it , so perhaps the nsu may have done well.

That ties in with my thoughts exactly.

If you saw an RS200 at North Weald then it certainly wasnt official!! Dont think they had a round of the BRC there in 86 or 87 when the RS was around, and definately not after that.

Anglesey as you know it has gone with the new circuit layout. I don't know how the rallycross track at Llandow goes, but since the circuit's day's are numbered due to housing being built on top of it, any hope of reviving rallycrossing is very slim.

Never saw the North Weald track, but I seem to remember reading that Hoppy tooks a British win with the 4x4 Escort, used by Gooding today

I think Renny was the first to debut an RS200, at Brands, and sadly ended his day in the pit wall.

Am utterly convionved there was never a BRC round at Weald, Renny debuted in 86 didnt he, before the others did, rememebr him being at the Dutch weekend whilst everyone was using Xtracs.

Lord knows how much DSRM paid for that car to get it away from Ford, was prably after the ban though so maybe cheap!!
