But he didn't. And if he did he would have been publicly shamed as bloody d***h**d! What's a fine gonna do?
And was the fine really for that? Seems to read as if it's for the burnout itself, nothing to do with Brighty... |

As one five five said the fine is setting a standard that this style of burnout is not acceptable he was told on radio to wait for cars to pass before commencing and was told don't do a static burnout as it can damage the track im fairly sure

It would have been written into the supplementary regs, which are sighted and signed off by the circuit, the catagory, and presumably CAMS.
Mr Winterbottom copped the same fine, for doing similar on the front straight of Sandown, where people were quickly gathering, post race. |

To understand the fine you need to know the difference between a burnout and a static burnout,
and the effect it has on the circuit surface. Burnouts are allowed, static burnouts are not. |

The mullet sporting, stubbies wearing, XXXX drinking, V8 driving bogan
I have to laugh at this, it really does show how stupid the person is who made the comment. Also seems to think that driving in front of another driver isn't dangerous. While I am a big fan of Chaz, I can sort of agree with the safety side, as for the static burnout call, I am on the fence, seems Victoria tracks are run by politicians looking for money. What does that make someone though who calls people who are true fans of a sport. A dirty, wine drinking, hobit bogan. You cant wear a stubbie and not everyone drinks when we watch it. Also the mullet is gone. I find this very amusing really, some people should work for the circus |

Similiar thing happened in NASCAR a year or two back after the winner of the Brickyard 400 buried the nose of the car in the pitwall and did a burnout right on the hallowed bricks and leaving two big wheel holes in the ground. Alot of people weren't happy about that

No, Definitely still real, I don't think that will ever change, as long as the Hulman-George family own it anyway
The line of bricks runs across the main straight, through the pits and into the spectator area's inside the track too |

A critical point particular to Phillip Island and that is that is a motorbike track primarily, the State Government has pumped lots of $ into it, the surface is critical for international motorbike racing, any static burnouts will degrade the surface pretty quickly.
