Hidden Valley Penalties

Stewards penalties imposed at the V8 Supercar Championship Series
Round Four Hidden Valley, 17-19 May 2002

Friday 17 May

OzEmail Racing was fined $500 for non-attendance at the Eastern Creek Team Managers Briefing.

Romano Racing was fined $2,000 for breaching Testing Rule D1.8.2 (failing to notify in writing the AVESCO Assistant Operations Manager (AOM) no less than 48 hours before the date of the proposed test day of their intention to test), and Testing Rule D1.8.3 (failing to obtain from the AOM permission to conduct a test day) when the team tested at Queensland Raceway on 7 May 2002.

Saturday 18 May

The following drivers were fined $200 for exceeding the pit lane speed limit:
- Car # 4, Marcos Ambrose
- Car #18, Paul Radisich
- Car #888, John Bowe, and
- Car #1, Mark Skaife, was fined $300 for exceeding the pit lane speed limit.

The following drivers were fined $250 for late arrival at the Driver's
Briefing:
- Car #7, Rodney Forbes
- Car #35, Jason Bargwanna
- Car #34, Garth Tander
- Car #31, Steve Ellery
- Car #46, John Faulkner
- Car #14, Steven White
- Car #21, Brad Jones
- Car #888, John Bowe



Sunday 19 May

The Kmart Racing Team was fined $500 for failing to have the speed limiter on car #51 activated at all times in Pit Lane.

Well they have gotten $5,000 in penalties reduced from their appeal. So they thought they'd be generous and give some back again.

Racetime, a job for you. What is the highest amount in penalties in one year by any driver or team and the highest number of penalties too.

HIghest fines - not sure - I only started receiving the Stewards reports last season.

I would have to hazard a guess and say Ingall in 2000 - all in one swoop from QLD raceway - don't think anyone else had or has come close to that have they??

i cant work out why the speeders didnt get a stop go penalty. That would have broughr Skaife back to the field

That was during practice/warm up/qualifying, where you can't really give them a stop-go as a penalty.

Apart from QR, there were a few other Ingall related dramas... but he didn't get fined for 'Planet Mork' did he?
