Francesca should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Out of interest, how much does the forum cost?

Hey Craig-
Just discovered another cool little option of yours...
As you can see, I've already clicked on it.

Okay, so there is some interest in the idea. What sort of things would persuade you to sign up for the scheme?

I'd like a leather jacket with a 30cm logo stitched on back. (Although I'd settle for a collegiate melton with leather arms.)

Also, I'd like my own subdomain (paul-collins.ten-tenths.com).

Oh, and a pay-per-use autocensor toggle.

Ok, I'd settle for an email address.

Hmm-
A T-Shirt, a cap, an e-mail (actually, paul, that subdomain thing is a cool idea!)...
Avatars are cool, but they don't thrill me...

Hmm...

Oh, and full moderating abilities

That's about it

I like the idea of a proper membership to the site. Another site tried this concept but ran out of ideas and patrons to be of much use.

A cap sounds good, maybe a polo shirt...

Despite mtpanorama's assertions that the SouthPacificPeso is making a comeback, against the British pound things still arent looking so sweet

An afterthought; how about being able to buy 'lives' so if we somehow overstep the mark one day, we dont automatically end up in a wheelie bin?

I'd like some form of identifying regalia - the cap is the easiest to think of and no worries about size etc, and can be worn nearly all year (November excepted!) - but I wouldn't wear a T-Shirt in September!

And GTR, some of us don't overstep the mark, so don't need lives!

Edited for Language

Personally Id prefer a t shirt as opposed to a cap, as I dont like caps really, and most dont fit my head lol. A t shirt would probably be the best option, sure u need to have a few sizes, but everyone wears a t shirt. Not everyone wears caps.

We tried clothing and caps previously and, despite all the interest expressed, take up was poor. As was the return for the effort input into the project. Therefore it is pretty unlikely we'll do that sort of thing again - think more along the lines of what would improve the forum itself. Maybe a 10 Tenths email address? That sort of thing??

Just thinking.

E Mail probably would be little cost and help raise some funds

Use of avatars, although there seems to be a lack of interest, which I tend to agree with.

Signatures could be avavilable only for members.

Caps or T shirts could be an option, but they are probably going to push the membership cost up.

Perhaps a 'members only' area that could be used for more 'adult' postings among subscibers. I'm thinking links to more adult sites, adult jokes and discussion rather than swearing, porn and slagging off other people.

IF there is interest maybe a group booking of a VIP box at certain racing events. Or maybe group buy of race tickets to try and obtain a discount. Obviously everyone would pay their own way.

My 2p worth anyway.

Maybe you could have a word with your employers and see if it's possible to get some hefty discount for a flight to Australia for subscribers? Say in time for Bathurst...?

Good ideas folks keep them coming

because that will be covered quite adequately in the kids area!

I am for anything th at helps the site, although I wouldn't like it to become them and us (paid up and not). So perhaps membership should offer things that don't really make a difference (sigs, avatars if wanted, etc...).

However there is also the option of allowing the opportunity to take it a little further by getting together as club members with ideas that have been suggested above. Maybe more regional things too? Hmmm I don't know, just thinking aloud.

I like the idea of the odd bit of merchanise, but it sounds like from experience it is a non-starter.

On the email address thing I may be missing something here, but why would I need a ten-tenths email address? I quite like the none TT one I've got and it is easy to get lots of other decent ones. I could see it being useful for ten-tenths business, but not really much else.

The suggestion of the avatars and Sigs was to encourage people to sign up, the more who pay then possibly the less every one has to pay. £1000 divided by say 50 £200. Have 1000 members and it is £1.

craig - Would love to offer cheap deals to Aussie, but alas the flights are selling very well. Also seems that I am not on the crew for the Aussie flights either, so here's to next year.

If you wanted to charter a 737 for a race I'm sure they could cut a deal (120 passengers or the Minardi jet 40 passengers). Now that would be Le Mans, Bathurst, Daytona or Indy in style
