WTdesign should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Prototype custom racecar

well I found this site interesting so I thought to join and chat on here. Looks like a good source of info, I hope I can learn something.

little background on me, I do CAD design for manufacturing 3d modeling surfaces for just about any kinda product, I also do allot of 2d CAD work using AutoCAD. I use Rhino for all my automotive 3d design work.

please crit anything that comes to mind, My client has control over the chassis design that will be integrated into this body design, so the design on that part may change a bit to match my model. From what I understand it will end up being a test bed for learning how to build a body and car from scratch and use it for racing.

thanks for any input you may have.

Good stuff WT.
Do or have you ever used Catia?
I worked in Germany for quite a time and the guys in the automotive design departments used this a lot. You can see the Catia logo on the Sauber F1 car as they design it with this - well they used to, if allegations of the 04 car being an 03 Ferrari are true!
I recall that Mercedes used Catia, VW/Audi seemed to use ICEM Surf.

yeah Catia is pretty popular for that stuff, usually I have seen that some guys will use another program to style the car like Studio Tools or Rhino like I use, they import usually into Catia and do all the high end manufacturing data, there are allot of software being used out there I use the cheep one, hehe

I haven't tried catia yet, one of my clients will import the car into it and have all the engineering done there.

thanks
