I have ELMS streaming on one half of the screen and French GT on the other. It is almost the same as having a 30 car grid.

good work Cheyne, if you go to GT Tour's website you can also watch their race...

The big question is... are we watching the last race of the ELMS?

1281 viewers... that's rather confidential. More than half of the field will get to brag about making it to the podium, and that's probably why the race is still run.
At least there are 5 prototypes running together (not all for the lead I understand). Isn't it great to watch a RACE where the leader isn't 5 laps ahead and racing on its own?! |

Even with only 13 cars the overall battle is still more exciting than in the WEC.

Hmm, now Murphy team manager has been called to race control so they could be getting a penalty....

So how many cars will finish. Did look like attrition would be to bad at first.

9 at the moment if Greaves & the LMPC car do not rejoin. 11 if they do.
For the lack of cars it hasn't been boring or tedious to watch. |

yep, thoroughly deserved by a team that have supported top-flight sportscar racing through thick and thin - the grid should not diminish their achievement either, the class was (the only) high quality entry.

I know I enjoyed the race. I will admit that I planed on watching for the possible train wreck of 13 cars.
Are there more LMPC cars in Europe? If there were I could see the series being a LMP2/LMPC only and maybe team up with International GT Open or another GT3 series for the longer races outside of Le Mans. |

bloody awesome race in lmp2, congrats to oak racing! (their first win correct? they absolutely deserved it). I hope they can sell some more chassis next year. As for lmpc - imho they should just cancel the category - there is no interest in it, the cars are boring as hell, and they will run out of homlogation soon. Bring the CN cars!!!!

Great to see Oak on the top step of the podium with their Morgan. After watching the race with LMP2's on camera nearly the whole time I have to say that the Morgan is the prettiest of all the P2's out there right now. I hope others see the capabilities of the chassis and they can sell a few stateside and in Europe.

Well there may not have been many cars out but that didn't seem to diminish the noise level.
3 cars on the lead lap at the end was not bad either. Maybe I should have gone rather than just listen to it as I treated the shed. |

The race was much better than the number of entries
They have two ways for the next year (it´s too late to save this year), the first one is acept the CN cars, downsizing with cheaper cars. The second choice it´s a little more brave, join the european races of the WEC with 6 hours races and call to the door of Jesus Pareja for some short races (ALMS WAY). It would be a extra "resistance" championship for the euro OpenGT (usually the last race was a 2 hour race) and sprint races for the LMP cars... Everybody wins |

This was an idea i had however im sure i am over simplifying things and that it wouldn't be very easy or cheap to do this.
Change LMPC class to CN spec cars with an additional 50hp and aero so there will be a difference of performance to GTE. Allow teams to use non spec engines providing the engines are built to the same power level and are cost capped. Change GTC to GT4 however allow cars more hp and aero so that they wouldn't be dangerously slow to the LMP2 class. Then regional championships (ALMS, ELMS & AsianLMS) can use LMP2, LMPC, GTE pro/am & GTC . Allow LMP2 & GTE classes to offer le mans spots to the top3 in championship to intice teams into running the regional championships. Keep WEC as LMP1, LMP2, GTE pro/am. Maybe you could have an LMPC & GTC only race for 90/120 min as a support for the Le Mans 24 hours to make running in LMPC & GTC worth the investment. I dont know what the answer is but thats my best shot. |

Why keep GTC? No one races in it.
