On that note, here's something interesting. Lap times between 2000 and 2004 were around 9-10 seconds quicker for all cars around the track. The new configuration in 2005 slowed everything down (ranging from P1 to Super Taikyu) by 9-11 seconds. |

I have another question. Which are the teams with most GT500 wins, and how many wins did they get?

Dome is not involved with the 2014 Honda NSX GT500!

The mother chassis can be used for mid engine cars.

Not directly no, but someone needs to manufacture these SGT/DTM spec chassis, and I was just passing on what Sam (who knows far more than I do) was sharing on MWM. Bar Dome, I don't see any chassis constructor being able to provide what the GT500 cars need, and the Japanese teams certainly aren't going to use Dallara
I honestly don't know if the exact same chassis or a modified version would be used. All in all though, at this point, Sam was just passing on some things he had heard, whether or not this comes to fruition, who knows! |

Sorry for the double post (and cross post from the Acura/HPD thread), thought I'd put this here as well since this is SGT news:
This is from Sam when Hindy joked that he was surprised they didn't just turn the chassis around to make the GT86 MR Quote:

You have to remember that Toray(worlds biggest CF supplier) bought Dome Carbon Magic from the Dome Group this year.
Called now Toray Carbon Magic They would most likely be making the SGT/DTM GT500 CF Tub in Japan and Germany. |

I don't want to read each Wikipedia article and add each winner. Someone must have done that already. |

In 2014 GT500 cars will use the same design of chassis as DTM, but made in Japan (by Dome/Toray), Honda will be mid engine, the others front engine.
GT300 mother chassis can be mid engine or rear engine again will be by Dome/Toray. The engines will be 2.0 litre inline fours built to the new NRE rulebook. DTM is said to be adopting these engines in 2015 but I'm not convinced. |

Same here. In my opinion, they should have a two-engine option; turbo inline-4 for hybrids, NA 6-cylinder for non-hybrids.

According to Autosport web,
export of the lithium ion battery of CR-Z and Prius was accepted this year. So we can see hybrid racecar at Sepang! http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=2&no=48830 |

As I said on twitter, that mother chassis is a milf, and I can't wait to see them on the track. |

I know it's not related to Super GT, but what happened to DTM USA?
On the other hand, I think juicy sushi's suggestion of 600 HP would attract some of the customers like Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge, if they want to field their respective pony cars, despite the Inline-4 powerplant. I hope Super GT upped the HP limit while GT300 should add 50 HP to have 350 HP. Last edited by MagVanisher; 13 Jun 2013 at 08:37. |
