Radisichrox should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Fantastic!

I just bought the 2001 review video. I'm speechless at how awesome the racing was. It looks like it's so much easier to pass now!

Obviously the speeds of the cars are down. Is this due to the suspension of the car (they appear to be much softer) or just a regulation regarding engine power?

I also like the camera angles inside the tourer cars. You can clearly see the gear-shifts as well as the driver's electronics (mostly in the Vauxhalls, but you can also see some cool stuff from the Production cars too).

I noticed that the Lexus sounds almost the same as Matt Neal's BMW from 1993. Is this because of the transmission they used?
If 2001 was this good, I can't wait for 2002!

I don't think the damper rates will have changed a great deal from the old ST's. The new cars do have a slightly higher ride height though, which means they 'wallow' around a lot more. This is very evident on the warm up laps when the cars are weaving about to get heat in thier tyres. The old ST's seemed a lot more tight

Okay, that probably explains it.

The video really didn't do it justice this year. Okay, at the first couple of rounds it all looked pretty dire as the Vauxhalls drove into the distance while everyone else blew up but, as the season progressed, it did develop into a really good series. A few more cars next year will really help, of course, but it really had some great races.

I agree, but either way, the racing is 100 times better than the super tourers! I'll take this any day over the super tourers!

I also noticed watching that lap of Donington on board with Arron (is that how you spell it?) Slight, and he seems to drive a lot like Paul Radisich. Anyone agree with me?

I've not seen the review video, so can't comment on that, but it has definitely been a good year which more than made up for a poor 2000 season.

I'm glad that the organisers recognised that having the Tourers as a separate race wasn't going to work with the numbers on the grid and once they were combined with the Production for the races things started to look good and developed as the season went on.

For what was seen as a transitional year, i think it worked out better than we'd anticipated at the beginning of the season.

To echo what Minardi Fan said, roll on Brands Hatch and Easter weekend

DTM I like, I just always forget to set my video for it. CART, I only get to see it when I'm at home due to it being on Channel 5. Never really seen GT racing.

Another note- I was dissapointed by Plato this year. He really was unfair to almost everyone in the field, and the way he won the championship is not the way to win one. As much as I think he's a pretty good driver, he really made me rethink my position on him.

Hmmm, what could I change it to? It's Dan Eaves!!!
But I'm THE Minardi fan, I can't really lose the name, can I?!

Radisichrox - I too was so disappointed by Jason this season. As people will testify, when I started going to the races I was cheering him on, but after the Muller incident my attitude changed completely. It was capped off by him punting Dan off at Donington. NO-ONE TAKES OUT MY FAVOURITE DRIVER... Grrrrrr...

Ha, I happen to be a bit of a minardi fan too... I was screaming my guts out when Gaston Mazzacane was running 2nd at the U.S. Gp last year! Later in the race, when Gaston retired, I remember someone threw an egg at the retired car and it hit it!

I'm glad you agree with me, Minardi Fan .

As for those a while ago saying John Watson sounded bored with the series this year, he certainly doesn't to me! True, he was reluctant to give credit to the production drivers, but he sounded even more fired up than usual in most of the races.

We wouldn't know what to call him, if he changed his name.

Could always shout 'Oi, Dan Eaves Obsessive'. But it doesn't really carry the same amount of class...

Remember the thing that John Watson said at Mondello, "They look like two ferrets fighting in a bag!"
