Don't any of you guys know your history? Coming ack from Angouleme last Septemer, being overtaken on the N10 by a Bugatti T35.

Blower screaming, 100mph plus, no wings built in circa 1930!

Also, same week, a circa 1908 Panhard et Levasseur on the motorway heading north from Bordeaux fast lane, overtaking everything! No front brakes!

Exellent! Hope to meet up with you there!
For those who have not been, it is the most amazing weekend of racing with some of the finest cars you will ever see from 1923 to 1975, I think it is the largest historic racing event.

....Can't wait!

Had a drag in the Alfa against a Ferarri 360 up the on ramp on to the freeway the other day. Sounded nice (for what I could hear over mine).

Obviously, he merged first, but by less than I'm sure he expected hehehehe the old girl's pretty rapid up to 100km/h (or thereabouts )

Oh, and speaking of Lambos, I saw a Miura trundling on donw the road (what an outrageous car - roof barely comes up to the windows in the Alfa, and its at wheelnut height for your average truck.

Would love to have a run in one of those (the Miura, not the truck)

Sorry to pulling up an old thread, but I spotted two fantastic cars at Snetterton this weekend. Firstly there was a Jaguar XJ220 parked in the car park yesterday and also on display was the stunning Aston Martin DB9.

There's a guy on a local estate who owns a Ferrari 360, Porsche 911, Lambo Murcieligo Merc SL or CL55 and loads of other stuff. I saw- and heard- a Ferrari (no idea what) while at a friends house, saw a Testarossa going by in France, and have stood within touching distance of a Ferrari F1 car. WOW! All by the time I'm 14!

I saw an R32 Skyline today at the Taco Bell. Of course living in Calgary, that's not something you would expect to see. It was RHD and everything.

Thanks for bringing this topic up again. It means that I can mention the Pagani Zonda I saw sitting in an M25 traffic jam near Heathrow back in July.

There is only one in this country and I had eth pleasure of being chased through traffic by it. And then did my best to keep up once it got past. Sexy beast of a thing.

Just remembered... Monaco GP 1968 at the Tip Top Bar on the Friday night. A dark Lambo Miura flashes past at high speed, the (clearly talented) driver flings the car sideways into the right hander down the hill.. I remember particularly noticing how the huge windscreen gave such a great view of the driver at work.

I used to see loads of Ferraris around Egham in Surrey (there's a dealership there!), its guaranteed that one will be zooming along if you're ever there.

The previous owner of the company I work for has an F40 that he used to drive to work at least once a week. I've seen a Lamborghini LM002 on my local freeway quite a while back....

Spotted in Wakefield yesterday not 1 but 2, Bentley Continental R's following each another through the city centre. There is also an Aston Martin DB9 floating around Leeds both me and my Dad have seen it.

If there's only one, it must be the same one I saw on Mona Vale Road, Terrey Hills. Silver, with 3-digit black and white NSW registration.

On the subject of fantastic cars on the road:
In 1984 I was living in Queen Street, Concord West, Sydney. Sleepy, middle-class olde-worlde suburbia. I woke up late one Sunday morning to see the Scuderia Veloce Ferrari 250LM parked outside my house. Just sitting there looking absolutely stunning. No idea how or why it was there. Various neighbours came and asked me about it, but I couldn't offer any explanation - although I thought of a few. It was quite a good day to have such an icon sitting outside my house, because I had friends coming around for a barbie later that day. I felt pretty cool just standing next to it with a tinny in my hand as friends arrived.

Turns out that the fellow who cared for it (Bob Atkin) had to move it across Sydney in a hurry, and borrowed an old trailer. Some welds broke on the trailer, and the Ferrari and trailer were in danger of being left behind. He unloaded the car and took the trailer away for welding repairs, finally turning up about five hours later. Oh, well. Sure looked nice just parked there.
