I had dinner with Huub's brother Martin last night and the 2 hour convosation was about Jos and his movements the last few months.
Huub is putting the whole soap opera down to Mr Perridon himself.... but makeing all these claims of a contract before Eddie (and Jos himself) has hurt negotiations. I know Perridon is trying his best to get Jos a seat but there are times when you try to hard and it becomes a negative effect. |

Jos has been signed for months, im sure of it. At the launch, Heidfeld, and, unfortunately Jos "the journeyman" Verstappen will be with him.

I dont think its so unfortunately :-), but besides that , i would like to see the details of his contract. I think it will be a sort of compromise , in the sense that Joes doesn't get a 2 year (which his team would have liked) but only a 1 year contract, but that the performance clausule is also dropped (which was the main controversy), so that Jordan can't release him after three races or so if they think he's not doing well enough. I could understand Jos and his team very well that they didn't want to close such
a (shamefull) contract for the many euro's they bring with them. love, bridget |

Jos Sucks.
There is a reason he has been passed from poor team to poor team....he's rubbish, plus he has a habbit of fighting people and getting into law suits. Look at drivers like Fisco...who even when in a poor ca like Verstapen has made the most of his machinery. While rubbish may be a strong term for an F1 driver, he is no-where near the standard that SHOULD be driving an F1 car, and is now forced to bring in wads of cash to get a seat. I admit that some drivers help their talent by supplying cash, but if Jos didn't have cash, no-one would be talking to him. The guy had to take an advert out in a mens magazine in a plain white racing suit, saying "Mobile advert for sale" ??? he was driving for no-one, he had no backers (not that you should need backers if the tallent is there) Kick Jos out he's had his go and failed. I'm tired of him being around. McNish could be interesting to see what he can do. Firman would be interesting to see if he can improve. Jos....we have seen his best and it was not good enough. Maybe he could thrive in a lower formula. |

Money makes the world go round.
So this will be the most important decision for Eddie Jordan. |

"We are still talking with Jos as we are in discussions with a number of drivers about a drive for this season," Eddie Jordan told F1Racing.net. "There is still a race seat available at Jordan." Looks like nothings settled yet, but Trust seems to be the main sponsor on Heidfelds overalls |

Launch photo's. B&H seem to have reduced their input, only having the rear wing and some other 'minor' branding on the car. Gametrac seem to have increased their branding. Other than the Trust branding, the car doesn't seem to be displaying a raft of new sponsors... |

From the logos on the car, it looks like Jos will be driving, but that Trust won't get the amount of space on the car they might have wanted. If it makes sense for Trust, though, they'd ultimately have to sponsor Jordan without Jos driving. It would depend on what percentage of their business is likely to be affected by unhappy Dutch fans - i.e. what percentage of their business is in Holland.

fact is though that Trust already did feature on the car without a deal for Jos. In effect they are already gaining the fruits of a sponsordeal with Jordan, because contract or no contract they are obviously are getting exposure since their name is on the car. Well, that in effect is a contract albeit that Trust gets a free ride. |

I reckon the Trust boys got the strategy wrong in this. What would have been clever would be to have had Huub Rothengatter do negotiations with Jordan, with a clear directive as to what was acceptable to Michael Peridon and Trust.
Then Huub can do the to-and-fro, and have a higher level authority available should the deal break down, should there be issues for clarification. When the boy at the top talks to the boy at the top, if they dont get on, there is nowhere to hide, no potential for deniability... This are simple rules for negotiation tactics... which most professional sales people would understand... |
