Jordan and Trust

Jordan have apparently tied up a sponsorship deal for the rest of the season with Trust for stickers on the car and the overalls of all three EXISTING drivers...No mention of a certain Dutchman...

I think its a bit much ado about nothing. I think its just an official confirmation of what they've been doing for the first 3 races

I think he is.
Maybe the new sponsor paid for the website changes - have you seen Jordon's new web page?

According to the reactions, more than half of the visitors of that page don't believe Jos will get the seat.

Speed Channel mentioned the possibility of Jos taking Pantano's seat during this mornings qualifying.

That would be awful for Pantano in my opinion. The guy was very good in f3000, and deserves a decent shot at this. It won't do much for F1's reputation either. The way that drivers are being hired and fired these days, make this sport look rather cheesy IMO.

Earlier today Eddie Jordan on dutch TV declared Jos will definitely not getting a seat at Jordan's for this season. Eddie will respect both contracts with Heidi and Pantano. Jordan and Trust will help Jos getting a seat somewhere else in formula one and Eddie suspects the changes for Jos's return in 2005 are good.

Well thats good news for Pantano, Jordan, and F1 in general.

Pantano has done about all that can be expected from a guy who had no testing time, and is really driving a lousy car. He has the right attitude though, and seems very appreceative of his shot in the Jordan. I wish him luck!

As I mentioned in another thread, I expect Nick to get the boot. And Pantano's qualifing result of today makes it all a lot easier for EJ.

The last problem Jordan has is the drivers. Time for EJ to go. Your 15 minutes of fame as a celeb/rock star/socialite/team owner/beverage tycoon is over. Bye.

I hope Jos gets nowhere near the car - this will linger in the shadows all season, the risk of him getting back into F1, wasting a seat that should go to a mroe capable younger driver.

I'm not quite sure about that.

In '99 he was (more or less) announced to take over Damon's seat at Jordan.

And then Damon started performing better, and decided to stay for the rest of the season.

---

Now there are rumours that Jos might be threatening Pantano's seat.

And immediately after, Pantano manages to outqualify his team mate for the first time.

---

Let's just hope that Heidfeld won't be the victim ...

Rest assured, i dont think that Jos even wants to drive for Jordan in the shape they are in now. The way it looks now, Jordan are only slipping further away losing both cars, one to a driver-error (Pantano) and the other to mechanical failure (Heidfeld).

It all makes me worry a bit about what F-1 is becoming: a raceclass with only 3 or 4 really competitive teams and the rest just slipping further back. I think the plans that Max Mosley presented to radically reform F-1 by 2008 by reducing costs and making it cheaper (only 1 brand of tyres, less engine power, less electronical help for drivers) so it will be far mor easy for other teams to join f-1. I really hope so, cause it all becomes alittle bit too predictable

love, bridget
