"It took almost an hour to get the race going again, but it was worth it!"
For half distance? I love that Steve Ryder hasn't improved since his ITV F1 days. He's still willing to BS his way through things. All it's missing is Mark Blundell standing around beside him trying to form a sentence. I'm glad old Paulo Neal is always reliable. |

I fear that Church will end up being modified to slow it down, tragic as that would be.

Clios continuing where the big boys left off. 5 cars in the wall or backwards before T2, red flag.

I fear it is a case of the cars have outgrown the circuit. |

Thruxton already gets a special tyre due to the forces. If the cars were too quick could they not just slow down the cars using a version of the control tyre? BTCC without Thruxton will never be right.

Thruxton is only on the calendar because there is no other circuits that are in the South/South West that can host BTCC. Thruxton has seen huge BTCC crashes since the mid 90's. Matt Neal said it had been discussed between the drivers and TOCA, and Dan Lloyd has been vocal about the safety concerns today to ITV. If BARC/UK MSA aren't able to tame Church corner to the satisfaction of the BTCC then TOCA may decide to drop the circuit. |

Dan Lloyd has a point about lack of tyres in front of the armco, I'd be interested to know the reasoning behind the lack of.
The soft earth bank and armco are a better alternative to having cars disappearing off and hitting tree's as happened in 2014. Twice. |

They mentioned that the current improvements constitute 'stage one' - so there's more to come. Must be difficult for a circuit with only a few 'headline' events per year to invest in major works.

Absolutely. Thruxton is limited to 12 days a years of racing, it's taken them a couple of years to get it to this point. Would be a shame to see the circuit neutered or lost from the TOCA calendar.
Dan Lloyd appeared very shaken by the accident when interviewed. Justifiably so. |

Bill Coombs has just said on ITV that no tyre barrier will be put at Church corner. That will not please the current drivers I am sure. |

Is it me or has Plato not been interviewed this year ? Out of favour or just washed up?

It would certainly spin the car around but the barrier is quite a distance from the circuit so it wouldn't spit the car back onto the circuit. It would certainly absorb impacts, and protect the armco. So I don't really understand their point.

When Jason is back at the front (if he ever does) then he'll get interviews. When he's not, he'll get as many interviews as everyone else who finishes sub 20th position. Even logistically, you don't send Louise to the back of the grid for one driver when everyone else you need to speak to is 20 positions ahead. |
