Brilliant!
I've just finished my first season. I went for arrive and drive because I simply don't have the room to keep or knowledge to run the car myself. I'd seen others do the same series on too tight a budget and effectively waste money because their car repeatedly crapped out on them. I wanted a car and team I could totally rely on - and not once did I have problems with my car (thanks Newbridge Motorsport).
Note that you can still own a car and have a team run it for you.
I did five rounds out of eight, finishing 12 races out of 13 and finishing 13th in the Championship out of 24 in my class - if it wasn't for the DNF I would have been 10th.
It cost me a fortune - the most I've ever spent on anything - but I've come to the conclusion that I'd much rather spend it and have a great deal of fun doing so than sit on it. With interest rates as low as they are, its not exactly earning a lot where it is.
Obviously being single and not having any kids, plus no mortgage, is a major factor!
