Kelvin, im doing a Photography course at Uni, and i wanted to get a press photographers pass to take some pics for my portfolio, how did you obtain one?

PS and is there any way you could get me one??

I freelance for a couple of websites, also I am currently working for BTC-P driver Jim Edwards jnr. You need to impress on a magazine editor to give you a letter of reference which you must submit to the organisers. I'm afraid you will have to work hard to obtain one! Some circuits you can get good pictures without a press pass. If you can build up a small portfolio, you can approach a magazine editor to give you an assignment. Look for parts of the circuit where the press dont go and catch the cars at a unique angle!! I can sometimes baffle a driver as to where I took the photo. ;-)

Sodemo, If you need a press pass, I don't know if it would help but you could always say that you were doing some work for Team B&Q/talkSPORT radio.

How would i go about doing this, I would have to go to either Silverstone or Donnington, so do i need to write a letter, phone them?

You mean there will actually be a reason to tune in? I used to be an avid (and I mean avid) listener back in the days when it was Talk Radio. And avoid their F1 show - it's more incompetent than ITV's F1 coverage...
